Thirteen centuries ago, the Angel-Saxon missionary Liafwin came to East Holland to convert the people into Christianity. Liafwin was declared holy and got a new name: Lebuïnus; Latin for "Good Friend". We couldn’t come up with a better name for this rough beer, brewed gentle and traditionally in Salland, a region still home to Lebuïnus. This is our Tripel

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, thin white head. Taste: Rather sweet, honey, white sugar, hints of flowers and caramel. Lightly bitterness at finish. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. More to a blond ale than a tripel in my opinion.

A triple with a head that has bitter hints of asperine, that aren’t surprisingly annoying. The aftertaste is a bit weak.

Ik vind hem zo slecht nog niet. Ziet er niet al te best uit. Erg helder en weinig kraag. Verder is het een kruidige, vrij scherpe tripel met wat hooi in de smaak.

Bottle from the store at Landal Holten. Golden blonde colour, small white head. Aroma is plain, standard grains, some hoppiness. Tastes standardm slightly bitter. Nice, but 13 out of a dozen or something. Some herbs also.

300 ml bottle at home, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 8.5%
Orange golden colour on the body, small and thin white head with average retention, leaving light lacing on the glass.
Sweet aroma, some very light floral notes, sugar, honey.
Taste begins sweet and malty, some grains, honey-like notes, with a nice bitterness on the aftertaste, quite intense at moments.
Medium body, good carbonation, oily palate.
Overall this one turned to be quite good, not exactly what I expect from a tripel but tasty nevertheless.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, fruchtig, leicht alkoholisch. Geschmack hefig, malzig süß, fruchtig, Gewürze.

Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of malts, straw, slightly sugary, alcohol. Strange, this shouldn’t be sold as a Tripel. I mean, where’s the yeast? Finish is bitter. Drinkable, I guess, but I don’t know what to make of this.

oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 30, 2013
Bottled. Hazy grey like orangeish/golden ugly colour with a mediumsized creamy thick white head that leaves good lace. Aroma is caramel, mild toffee, some alcohol as well as mild yeast and spices. Flavour is toffee, grains, mild metallic notes as well as some hay and grass.

at first I smelled a molten down hockey puck. As I near the end of the beer it smells like a great IRS, but it isn’t...
Just a weird tripel, don’t really know what it is, don’t really know if I like it either.
Bottle from De Schans
