Bomber from hayduke. Looks like a cola being deep dark brown along with some red. A nice beige head leaves some very cool lacing. Aroma is pleasant citrus but the first sip is quite bitter. That comes from melon rind. Some deep earthiness along with citrus. hayduke (5188) - Eureka, California, USA - FEB 5, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2017 At SRB brewpub in McCall, Idaho on the last day of Winter Carnival and of course Super Bowl Sunday. Pint pour was dark brown with a tan head. Great lacing rings. Nose is roasted malts. Medium body and a very smooth mouth feel. Flavor of rich roasted malts and piney hops. Lightly bitter finish Very easy drinking. Nice pour at the McCall pub over the weekend... Pours fairly hazy even for a black brew... decent enough tannish head... short lived drapes of lacing.
Nose is pretty big piney hops with a good hit of dark toast and a hint of roast/coffee malt.
Flavor mirrors the aroma with a nice bitterness up front. Very tasty and proper Black IPA.
Body is light/medium with good carbonation.... very drinkable and even quaffable despite the slightly larger ABV.

On tap at Salmon river pub. Pours out a dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose is roast malts pine needles and some bread. Taste is as the nose with a good hop and dark malt combo. pinkzambia (1931) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Tap: Dark brown, with a tan head. The aroma is typical and pleasant but the flavors left me hoping for more. Kind of sharp in the flavor with a thin finish.

Nearly black, very full and dense light tan head. Nitro looking. Heavy sticky sheets of tan lacing. Moderate roasted aroma, bitter roasted IBU bite. Not huge on flavor, but dry and quick and sharp. Not bad Sledutah (7491) - Utah, USA - JUN 10, 2012

Back with a big tan head. Aroma and tastes of citrus and roasted malts. A nice, easy drinking black ipa.
Draft. Almost completely black, thick tan head. Aroma of pine, grass, toast. Taste is roasted pine cones. Nice.
