The young lady behind the bar at the Salmon River Brewpub told me she felt they really got it right this time. So I went for a whole glass. Poured kind of somewhere between a hazy and cloudy orange color. Small white head. Nose is pretty much ginger Medium in body. The flavor there brings forth a lot of ginger and then the plum There just enough ginger here to balance the plum. Finishes with some good ginger spiciness. A whole glass of fruit beer is often too much, but this one was good to the last drop. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 14, 2014
On tap at the McCall pub while enjoying a beautiful Friday afternoon on the lake.. Pours a hazed orange... short lived white head.. Nose shows pretty sharp ginger along with just enough pale malty sweetness to compliment the spiciness.... the flavor is a little better with a fruity and a bit tannic note that definitely reminds me of the standard fleshy black plums you see at the grocery store or fruit stand... Surprisingly drinkable for one glass, but I was starting to get tired of it quickly. pinkzambia (2111) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 16, 2012
Tap @ Breforia: These fruit beers are hard to get right and I don’t think Salmon Brewing pulled it off. Kind of a bad version of fruit beer mixed with a saison is what you can expect for flavor. Aroma is pretty mellow. I guess you can sense some of the ginger but no plum and it really isn’t easy to drink.
