2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at the Barley Bros Brew Fest, Meridian ID. Hazy orange amber. Small but persistant head. Hoppy grassy aroma and flavor. Bitter but in a strange soapy way. None of the classic citrus west coast hops flavor.
Growler fill at the Fred Meyer, had a couple pours. Soft orange color with a modest tan head. Nose is citrus and a little pine, sweet and sticky. Hop flavor abounds, pine and citrus. Good resin and malt balance. I could grasp the hop intensity, but it was very approachable. Nice brew. lightbias (453) - USA - SEP 4, 2014
On tap at Lefty’s in Ketchum. Pine, and grassy grapefruit. Sweet roasted caramel with a floral touch, a nice bitter balance. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 17, 2014
Good pour at the new brewpub over the weekend.... Pours a lightly hazed light amber... good white head with plenty of lacing.
Nose shows pretty pungent piney hops with equal pithy grapefruit zest.
Flavor mirrors the nose with plenty of pale malt and IMO too much residual caramel maltiness.
Good body/perhaps too thick ... nice bubble... pretty abrasive and I don’t mind it... Definitely PNW in the hop department, but I personally think the malts could be dialed back a bit.

On tap at Dutch Goose. The kind of hop sharpness that made NW IPAs famous. Small thin head, but lots of laacing. Piney wih hint of tart citrus. Cloudy amber, taste is much stronger than aroma lets on. Strykzone (7364) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - AUG 21, 2013
Bomber from Hayduke. This poured effervescent orange brown and sported a nice three finger beige head. It fell in big bubbles leaving thin wispy lacing. Pine, citrus, bread, and caramel in the aroma. The feel is just a little on the thin side. A big bitter grapefruit and tropical fruit bite hits at the first sip. Some earthiness and grass are tasted but the grapefruit tends to over power everything else. Caramel is under the hops and brings some needed sweetness. This is short of being a great beer but is tasty. hayduke (5218) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 20, 2012
On draft at the Salmon River Brewpub in McCall, Idaho. This came in the glass a clear reddish amber with a nice off-whitre head and good lacing rings. Nose is a grapefruit citrus and some flowers. Medium plus body with a resin mouthfeel; The flavor is well balanced between the malts and hops, and brings on just the right amount of bitterness. The finish is dry, long and bitter and while it is not Green Flash West Coast IPA, it is a less intense look-alike. Exceptionally drinkable, and good to the last drop.
