Cask handpull at the Ledger Building (JDW), Canary Wharf. Looking forward to this from the reviews. Deep brown, lasting cream head. Its a malty brown bitter like what used to be made. Bit more to it than that though the finish has nuts and dates and is rather wonderful. Finish is so long and deep and malty and fruity and lovely. Awesome. madmitch76 (27181) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2010
14th April 2010. Clear dark amber beer. Small white head. Light dry palate. Full on darkish malt - this feels like a porter! Rich dark malt and a trace of coffee and smoke. Some non bitter orangey hop coming through towards the end. A porter in brown ale clothing! DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2010
Cask Handpump at the Penny Black JDW, Northwich 16/04/2010
Malt aroma. Bronze mid brown coloured fruity a little rich on the palate and peppery with a hint of bitterness in a dry full malt finish. SilkTork (5966) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2010
JDW Spring fest - Rochester. Distinct roasty notes in what is essentially a premium bitter. Quite sweet. Some chocolate notes. A mild bitterness in the finish which comes as much from the roast malt as the hops - though hop notes linger late.

Cask conditioned handpump High Cross Leicester. A mid brown coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. There are hints of chocolate in the nose , but much bigger better chocolate in the mouth. Coffee too in the mouth. Some nutty notes, but that chocolate is nice. sm89walt (2096) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - APR 28, 2010
Cask - The Glasshouse (JDW), Norwich. Poured a dark brown with a mostly lasting medium sized off-white head. Dry hops at the back and a touch of sulphur but to the fore come toasted, choccy malts on the nose. Slightly yeasty, mid fruit flavours with a light bitter chocolate finish. Soft, smooth palate texture, very low carbonation and rather light in body. wheresthepath (2456) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2010
[Gravity cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Rather a lifeless orangey-brown colour with a thin beige head. Sweet coffee and malt through and through. Body rather thin. OK. leaparsons (10977) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2010
Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber brown with a beige foam. Aromas are fudge and cookie dough with chocolate. Floral with citrus notes and some hints of smokiness and raisins. Earthy, lightly spiced hops. Flavours are sweet chocolate and weetabix malts with a light roast character. Yeasty with a smooth palate. Gentle hops on the finish. Good. bobinlondon (1297) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2010
Hand pulled cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW) Watford. Copper red with a good creamy beige head. Dry slightly smokey malt with a hint of caramel. Good fresh English hops in a long satisfying finish. Excellent.
