GoufCustom (2208) - HONG KONG - JUN 2, 2014

500 ml bottle bought at Sips in Sai Wan.

Clear blackish brown colour; One finger head and crumpety light beige foam which lasts for 1 minute; Good sticky lacing and active carbonation; Fragrant and very sweet aroma of malt, with nice vanilla, milk chocolate, hazelnut cream, sugar, waffles, very light coffee, caramel and faint grass; Medium sweet dark taste of malt, with strong roastyness, nuts, light black coffee, hazelnuts, dark chocolate, caramel, light cream, sugar, light tart notes, light lime, quite strong bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body. Slick and quite creamy palate; Mouth Feel is a pretty solid Porter, very malty, roasty and nutty. Quite strong hazelnut presence (probably from the syrups), but overall taste is not so sweet. Decent smoothness with subtle dark chocolate and coffee characters. Pretty good!... Hoppiness is faint grass nose, light lime and decent grassy taste. Strong bitterness for a sharp and lasting moderate bitter finish; Quite dry after taste, bitter and smooth to mouth.

Comments: This is a rich strong brew, not as intense as Triple Chocoholic stout, but it’s malty / roasty / smooth and strongly hopped to hold its own, with lesser syrupy adjuncts makes it more appealing to many. A very drinkable and likeable porter.

Splitenz (370) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 6, 2014
Had this in a Tallinn hotel room. It is a really nice porter, and a surprise flavor wise as the ABV is so low. It tastes like fresh ground coffee with hazelnut in it. Not far away from the latte I have quite often in the morning before work. It goes down real easy and leaves you wanting more.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, mocca, toffee and something that want me to think it’s hazelnut. Flavour is roasty malty coffee, big lactose creamy coffee, mocca, caramel, toffee. Very nice. I like these fresh ground flavours!

Pours clear red copper with off white head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is roast, fresh fruits, and caramel. Taste is watery, roast, coffee, and dark chocolate bitterness. Finish has dry bitterness, reminds hazelnuts. Overall: drinkable, but nothing special.

Bottle shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Clear amber-brown beer, small head. Caramel-coffee nose with malty tones. Flavour is roast, caramel, some coffee, but the palate is fairly thin. Bitterness and vague maltiness in the finish.

An odd beer. AMber coloured and clear. Has an off-white head. Heavy sweet, floral aroma, almost candy. Faint nuts. Flavor starts sweet too, moderate bitter finish.

Almost light brown color, very interesting. Could’nt expect nothing but the taste was very good, impressive, has it’s unique taste at the very first second - taste of a good coffee, then some sweet caramel and hoppy ending. Although it evaporates quite quickly it still keeps it’s unique taste. Hazelnut reveals later, at least after 15-20 minutes of drinking.
