Pours very dark brown, topped with a smaller tan head. Nice malty nose, chocolate with slight roasty note, a tad nutty, a bit of rum soaked sponge cake feel over it with some fruitiness in the back. Moderate bitterness with some chocolate maltiness in the back. Medium light bodied, lighter aftertaste, though quite lasting. Nice malty cake nose with hoppy bitterness in the taste.

0.33l [email protected]: pours clear deep brown color with foamy dissipating light brown/beige head. Aroma: malts, roasted grain, citrusy, fruity hop profile. Flavor follows aroma: hop bitterness is medium to high, dry, bitter. Body is light to medium, texture smooth, carbonation is moderate.

Pleasant enough spicy, hoppy, and roasty, burntish aroma. Dark, brief head. Roasty burntness in taste, some bitter hops. Kinda dull. Wateryish palate. finish roasty, bitter, tedious. Poor BIPA.

Cask conditioned at York Beer Festival ’16. Very dark chestnut with cream head. Darkly roasted malts lead the way here, liquorice hints with a slightly tarry edge then a tangy citrus note comes through. Hoppy and bitter in the close. Very pleasant.

Bottle as a birthday gift from Chris. Cheers! Pours mahogany with a decent frothy cream head. The aroma is mostly cocoa with a hint of tropical fruit. The taste is spicy with pine notes before coffee and dark chocolate. Nice lingering bitter finish. There’s a really good balance between the malt and hops in this. Quite light and refreshing making it easy drinking. Very good. The best beer I’ve had from this brewery by some distance.
