tombyars (1672) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - APR 26, 2017
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) on the 25th April 2017. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear copper in colour with a thin creamy pale buff head. Nice fragrant hop aroma, long on the nose. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Strong malt backbone gives digestive biscuit with rye grain present in the mouth. Bitter hop resins impart a pink grapefruit flavour to the dry aftertaste. Finish is hoppy with grapefruit pith and oak cask notes again dry on the palate. A decent Amber Ale.

Towey1989 (2568) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 31, 2017
Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A clear deep amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, some coffee, slight toast, a little orange, a hint of grapefruit, red berries and subtle spicy hops. Taste of toasted malts, caramel, hedgerow fruits, some coffee, a little burnt toast, a hint of red berries, slight orange, grapefruit and subtle spicy, grassy hops. Medium bodied and an oily texture. A long, dry, toasted fruit and spicy hop bitterness in the finish. Starts quite sweet, toasty and fruity and then the bitterness develops. Coffee and burnt toasted malt and subtle spicy citrus and grassy hops. A decent cask amber overall, just slightly unbalanced.

Cask, The Highcross, Leicester. Hazy amber gold with a thin cream foam. Toasted and toffee malts with sudsy oranges and hedgerow berries. Hints of strawberry with a light lemon bite. Earthy and spicy with woody notes. Dry and grainy palate with a mellow citrus bitterness. Decent.

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon in Mar 2017 - Deep Reddish Brown colour. Large creamy off-white head. Toasty malts, grainy, caramel. Grapefruit citrus. Moderate hop bitterness. Sweet-bitter malty fruity throughout. Lingering bitter finish. Good. (2017-03)

wheresthepath (2300) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2017
Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Deep amber with a moderate fizz and a negligible off-white head. Great marmalade on toast flavour with a side order of blackcurrant jam. A little twist of spice too. Full-flavoured and very drinkable. Well balanced bitterness. Flavours maybe fade a little in the finish but still a good brew. Im not normally a fan of this brewery but theyve done well here.

Cask at Tilly Shilling, Farnborough. Bunged up gnose - not gettin no aroma. Medium chestnut. Creamy but thin off-white head. Malty. A slight tang. Gains bitterness into the finish. Light. Soft carbonation. Long astringent finish. OK, have a cold but nothing special.

The_Osprey (7835) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 28, 2017
Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall as Saltaire New World Red. Dark amber orange, translucent but brilliant, still, foamy beige head which leaves thick lacing. Aroma is faint orange peel and toffee. Body is smooth, maybe a touch frothy with soft carbonation. Taste is lemongrass, faint ginger, little woody, integrated crystalised fruit sweetness, breathy bitterness. Quite nice balance - I could definitely do a couple of pints. A solid beer to mark the occasion of my 100th amber ale.
