500ml Bottle: This might be called "American stateside " but maybe the interpretation is to brew an IPA from a state with boring IPA ? . A state that prides itself on highly conservative booze and IBUS , lack of innovation and a strong fucken shortage of creativity with interesting hops ! This stuff is ok , but with a brash name like Stateside you expect more attitude . Theres tangerine , spice , citrus , all very sticky and cumbersome on the palate . The caramel malt emphasis rounds this up to give a character with more resemblance to an English ESB .

500ml bottle from Beer Ritz. Orange brown, good foamy head. Sour apple malt and hop aroma. Soapy bitter caramel malt flavour. Bitter oaty apple hop aftertaste. Not really an IPA. More a hoppy premium bitter.

Pours a light copper, with a thick white foam. A malt and hop aroma, this is a clean tasting beer, more of a hopped up British style ipa , rather than a truly US one, but a decent supermarket beer.

Cask at Greyhound, Hartshill. Pours golden amber. Quite a dryness from the hops, some biscuit, bit more malt. Quite malty for an IPA at this strength. OK.

Live rating. 500ml bottle from M&S Team Valley Gateshead Served cold in a Monchshof tulip. Rich amber body with an off white skim. Citrus and sweetshop aroma. Ribena and nut flavours, Olde English marmalade, assertive hops. Slick mouthfeel, bitter finish. American IPA, with a touch more English maltiness than usual. Nice.
