Cask Pint at The Falcon, Clapham Junction, London in Jan 2011 - Black in colour. Very Malty; very, very chocolaty (but not sweet), roasty malts , hints of coffee and vanilla. Bittersweet malty with a drying finish. Enjoyed this. Unusual, different. Nice beer! (2011-01-26)

Cask @ The Paramount, Manchester - UK. Color: deep dark black beer with brown reflection, no carbonation and medium brown head. Smell: chocolate domination, sweet and dark malt with bread notes. Taste: light body with good roasted malt, cocoa nibs and chocolate, sweet and bread notes. Good attenuation. Aftertaste: sweet chocolate and roasted malt. OK.

Cask @ The Head of Steam. Durham. Dark almost black body with a mocha coloured head which lasts a short while. Roast chocolate beans on the nose. Medium mouthfeel, definite chocolate, tastes lightly sweet initially with a rounded dry stout finish with a burnt edge, but not overpowering like some stouts.

Very very very dark brown, with no head. Smells just like Hersheys chocolate syrup. Starts off with bitter chocolate, goes into beer flavor, and then ends with a nice milky chocolate ice cream flavor without being unduly sweet. Full bodied.

Very dark brown. Ring of tan head. Smells like Hersheys chocolate syrup. Medium-full body. Medium sweet. Odd bitterish flavor hits toward the end, more like cocoa powder. This beer isnt poorly put together, but is probably better for somebody other than me.

From 500ml bottle. Pours dark, almost black. No head. Strong chocolate aroma. Taste is sweet with chocolate malts. Lives up to its name! Slight bitter aftertaste due the addition of Fuggle hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Solid black with medium sand tan foam. Aromas of sweet of black chocolate, quality chocolate truffles and cocoa powder. Palate, medium to full body with smooth sily texture leaving smooth lasting finish of chocolate. Taste ultra heavy on reall black chocolate and cocoa powder. Rather strong and bitter chocolaty taste which lasts, lable did not lie! Overall, most chocolaty beer I had so far, do recomend!

Cask at GBBF 16, the champion beer no less. Deep black colour, thick long lasting white foam. Certainly delivers on the promise of chocolate, quite a silky heavy chocolatey feel, a bit darker than milk chocolate but equally not the 80% stuff either. It is nice no doubt, but also one of those slightly gimmicky beverages that tastes great for one sip but by the end of my glass I was kind of glad I didnt have a whole pint to get through.
