COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after our native Florida Sea Cow, the Manatee, who resides in the murky brackish waters of Florida, this beer is dark, flavorful and roasty. This beer is smooth, with a velvety mouthfeel, but at the same time the roasted malt gives you that rich FAT flavor you want from a stout.

Draft at the brewery in Delray Beach, FL. Also took a growler home. Pours a jet black with an off-white two finger head in my snifter. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa, caramel, cereal grains, and lactose. Taste is similar with a well balanced roasted malts to lactose too hops profile. Nothing too exciting, but a solid milk stout. Full body, some carbonation. Finishes strong like a malt shake. Creamy mouth feel.

12oz can from Homer. Maybe this is supposed to be called Sea Cowboys Sour Milk Stout? Poured a dark black thinner to medium body with a smaller fizzy light beige head. Aroma is not good. Notes of pickle juice, sourness milk, bad chocolate, burnt toast, old coffee. Flavor is the same plus some brown paper bags. Medium body with stronger carbonation and luckily a quicker fading aftertaste.

A nice semi-bitter sweet stout. Has that lactose-milky flavor and feel, but also some burnt sugary stuff in there to balance out. Medium thick black appearance with a dark mocha head. Creamy texture. I would like to try this one on tap/nitro.

Can on board the Carnival Splendor. Pours almost black with a tan colour head. Aroma of lactose, light coffee, malt and chocolate. Fairly sweet with a light roasted bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish was oddly salty.

needs some work. the flavors are light and the foam as well. not a sin but it doesnt seem refreshing. seems loosely related to what is described. there is a bit of dust and cocoa and on a good note a dash of salt that worked into the name, and, strengthened a bit, all around?...i see something demonstrative. this beer could still be made into something.

2015 BJCP Category: 16A Sweet Stout

AROMA: Roasted malt, coffee, some [dark] chocolate. Only slight cream sweetness. Minor floral hops. 8/12

APPEARANCE: Straight black hue. Small tan foamy head. Trace lacing. 2/3

FLAVOR: Dark roasted malt throughout most of the palette. Underlying flavor of black coffee. A light creamy sweetness emerges at the apex, with a hint of vanilla. Floral hop flavor is noticeable as is bitterness. Quite roasty and bitter for the style; this is not as sweet as most milk stouts. Could pass for a standard stout. 12/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body and carbonation. Slight smoky aftertaste, but not astringent. No residual sweetness. No alcohol presence. 2/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: In the ballpark of a milk stout, but better considered as an American Stout with some lactose. Not nearly sweet enough. 6/10

TOTAL SCORE: 30/50

From a can. Pours dark brown with a bubbly, frothy tan head. Tastes like dark chocolate malt, booze, molasses, earthy, and woody with a hint of ash. Light/medium body and carbonation. Smells like dark chocolate malt, woody with light ash, booze, and molasses.
