COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took 2 years of brewing, tasting and testing to come up with the final recipe for Sam Adams Light. We focused on brewing a flavorful, high quality beer with a light-bodied taste and fewer calories. Sam Adams Light is a unique beer, it’s not a lighter version of our Boston Lager. Sam Adams Light is the only light beer that uses no adjuncts and a traditional brewing process to ensure a balance of flavor and light-bodied taste. No other domestic light beer uses only the four classic ingredients of beer: pure water, lager yeast, Noble hops and barley malt. The quality ingredients that make up Sam Adams Light include two-row malt and some of the most expensive hops in the world, Spalt Spalter Noble hops. At 128 calories, Sam Adams Light features a clean finish and no aftertaste.

Bottle into SA’s lager glass, bright amber color with white head. Aroma of malt sweetness, somewhat floral and maybe the slightest grain and caramel note. Taste is the aroma adding some notes of bread and a very faint nuttiness. Light body, moderate carbonation, watery yet malty too with clean finish. Not to bad for a light beer, the faintest of nuances sets it apart from the macro lights.

Light rust and some bumper - almost like the aroma of a Volkswagen beetle from the 70s. Maroon pour. Bitter finish with astringent aftertaste. Bottle at Smithsonian movoe premier.

355ml bottle. Consumed various times. This bottle is form work and I think they might have retired this one, they won’t sell it to us for catering purposes any more. Its a crappy light beer.

Claim they spent 2 years. Probably need to spend 2 more. Like a poor cousin to the Boston Lager - weak flavour, weak body. Only redeeming quality is the cleaner finish.

One of the nicest light beers I’ve had. Not sure where the hate comes from. Pours clean amber colour, frothy head. Gentle aroma and appropriate malt presence.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- enjoy before Nov 2016 --- Aroma of clean malt. Clear bright amber brown color, off-white head that quickly recedes to a thin cover, a few lace spots. Taste is uncluttered malt, medium fizz, and light hops. Medium length finish. This is a clean malt-in-front brew that drinks easy and is light in the belly. As of now, it is a valid choice when "I just want to sit down with a beer."

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 1/2017. Pours crystal clear golden orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, light pepper, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/dry, fairly bready/grainy, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Very clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Overall this is a nice light lager style. All around good robustness and balance of bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful with a nice mouthfeel for the low ABV; feels like a lighter version of Boston lager for the most part. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Amber in color, clear and poured with one finger of a frothy white head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel. A nice light beer.

Bottle to shaker glass pours clear deep golden. On finger, quick off white head. Scant lacing with slight retention. Aroma of caramel. Taste is lightly sweet with just a hint of bitterness. Light bodied, lively carbonation, mouth feel is a little thin. Finishes dry. Tasting notes of caramel, biscuit, floral hints and roasted malts. Really not bad for a light beer.

Average frothy offwhite head. Fair lacing. Mostly diminishing. Clear thick dark-yellow body. Aroma: heavy malty, hazelnut. Initial flavor: moderate sweet. Final flavor: light bitter sweet; average duration. Palate: watery texture, light body, lively carbonation, metallic finish. Tastes like Oktoberfest/Marzen. 10s

Pours a light amber color. With a pretty aggressive pour, I a little over one to get head. Pretty thick white head. No real lacing.

Aroma isn’t so bold. It’s malty and breach and that’s about all.

Taste is pretty good. It’s breach and malty. Slightly caramel. Only barely hoppy. Finishes sweet malty.

Mouthfeel is mostly watery. It’s smooth, almost silky. Finish is slightly wet. Very clean.

Overall it’s pretty terrific. Especially for a light beer. Better than most light beers I’ve ever had, its just too expensive.
