Rating #982 - February 16, 2014, $0.25 CAD for a 500mL bottle from Depot, 4.5%. Clear amber pour with a foamy tan head with decent retention. Aroma is roast malts. Mild carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Light bodied. Taste is heavy on roast malts, mild caramel sweetness. Finish is dry, but well balanced. A good bitter.

On bottle from Meny Oslo City. Copper colored, good foam. Aromas of malt, dried fruits, autumn leaves. Medium body & complexity. Starting of with light sweetness, then good balancing bitterness. Enjoyable

Cask @ Gallows Bird ⅩⅦ Real Ale Festival
Aroma is rather fruity with some hops and caramel tones. Flavour is a bit musty with minerals, toffee and grainy tones. Also hints of caramel. Too English but decent anyway

Really want to like this beer as it’s from a local brewery but wasn’t blown away by it. Perfectly acceptable but without much depth of flavour - fairly non-descript. Amber colour, smooth on the palate but the finish could be more bitter.
