A moderately strong dark beer with subtle aroma of roasted malts. Plenty of tan coloured head and a smoky malt flavour with a minor chocolate finish and after taste. A pleasant drink and classic style porter with not much adaptation which is refreshing as some brewers have adapted this style too much, it is nice to go back to basics.
Cask spoons. A strange green vegetable backdrop fucks this up.. otherwise chocolate and coffee boxing match .. light roasted nuts swallow. Ebone1988 loves multiple nuts in his mouth. Parmenion777 (380) - Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 22, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2017 Pours a chestnut brown colour with a small beige head. The aroma is a light roasted malt with a little caramel. A bready malty fruit loaf taste, moderately sweet with some caramel and nutty earthy flavours and a light dryness in the finish. Nice. Stuu666 (15248) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 15, 2017
The only cask on at the angel! Pours deep amber, nose is malty, blackcurrant, toffee, taste is sweet, fruity, light roasted malts. JorgeLee (2278) - Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2017
Cask, Tap on the Line. Deep reddish brown black colour. White foam. Good rich dark beer, at the sweeter end of the spectrum, some toasty nuts, hint of roast, malt loaf, fruit. Medium finish. Quite a tasty pint. nybol (2440) - DENMARK - JUL 12, 2017

(old bottle) murky deep brown colour with a frothy light-beige head. aroma of brown sugar and caramel, very sweet, with some notes of dark chocolate, heavy raisins and toasted malts. flavour is more brown sugar and chocolate liqueur, some earth, fudge and a semi-dry toasted grainy finish. medum-bodied with average carbnation. Vladivostok (491) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2017
You wouldn’t call this distinctive but it pretty much ticks all the boxes. Dark but not opaque with a decent thick head and a restrained flavour of slightly overdone toast, it is a typical London porter and none the worse for that. Recommended but so are many others. worldbeertaste (1819) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 10, 2016
Fairly decent porter that rolls off the tongue easily but overall feels watery and a bit too simple. Nonetheless, an enjoyable pint ippopotamo36 (2623) - Rome, ITALY - SEP 30, 2016
Handpump at The Harp, London. Black tough clear pour with reddish highlights, creamy head much retention. Nose: soft oxidation, leather, cherries a bit. Mouth: quite watery and truly dry, some character comes up when you sip it again and again. Infused coffee and some red fruit. The other side of Porter.
