Igen en undergæret English-style 'doven' og lækker oplevelse fra Samsø Bryghus. En dejlig, mørk og lakrids oplevelse. Laaang lakrids eftersmag - som overtages af en tydelig mocca-fornemmelse. Fedt...

Old notes from DØE Horsens 06. Dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is roasted barley, chocolate and coffee. Flavour is dry roasted barley and coffee.

Sampled at DØE Beer festival 2006, Horsens. Pours a dark brown beer with a small head. The aroma is chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is roasted and fruits. The palate is roasted with bitterness. Overall not impressive.

From Superbrugsen, Aarhus, DK. Bottled. Much too dry - coffee like. Some caramel but lacks malt sweetness

Bottle shared by jsquire at jsquire’s. Small fizzy tan head that quickly dissipated, no lacing, no carbonation observed, opaque, and a reddish brown hue. Nose was malty, roasty and some chocolate. Flavor was malty, roasty, coffee, and some caramel. Flavor was a little better than the aroma. Tingly mouthfeel and medium in body. I was not much impressed with this one overall as it lacked much character given the style and ended up being a disappointing beer. Needs some umph added to it so it tastes more like its style. There is definitely, without a doubt, much better available of this style.

This bottled brew from JSquire at a rating party poured a medium sized head of fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated dark orange brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was brown malt caramel malt and dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of caramel and dark malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again.

I got this bottle from a Secret Santa a while ago and just opened it. I’m surprised at how little everyone else liked it. It’s a dark beer with mahagony hues when held against the light. Frothy beige head. The nose had some chocolate, dusty grains and a faint licorice. Flavors of dark chocolate, burnt caramel, tobacoo, charcol and something green and grassy in the finish. The finish did get a little funky, but I didn’t think it detracted from the beer. I’d buy it again, assuming that I bought it in the first place.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly deminishing head. Brown colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. OK nice flavor with chocolatenotes. Oily palate.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Sourish roasted aroma with fruity notes. Same goes for the flavour. Finish is roasted with lots of metal notes. Notes of apple as well. 06-07-07.
