COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams American Kriek: The intense black cherry character in this beer comes from Balaton cherries, which were discovered in Hungary and are now grown in Michigan. These special cherries are prized for their depth of flavor. The tartness from the cherries is balanced by a rich, malty character with toasted oak notes added from the barrel aging.

Is this a fruit beer or a cherry soda? The beer poured a pinkish-red color with an off-white head. The aroma was doughy with light cherry fruit. The flavor was fairly sweet with the taste of cherry. No tart or sour notes. just sweet. The body was light with a sweet candy cherry finish.

BeerViking (4954) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2016
75cl bottle at home, aged a year, pours a deep red-brown with a thin fine head. Nose is tart old cherries and cherry stones, with very faint hints of vanilla and cocoa. Palate is lightly oaky and cherryish, yet far drier than the average kriek. Woody and faintly herbal bitterness, turning slightly grapefruit bitter in the finish to complement an emerging dry-sweet cherry aftertaste. Excellent!

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange ruby with medium off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is cherry pith and oak. Thin mouth, jammy, cherry skin, grain, oak, light finish, good.

weordie (1314) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2015
A dark browny red with a nice head. Aroma is sour cherries. A sour taste with a hint of belgian yeast that gives way to sweet cherries. This is a big strong beer.
