(Bottle) clear, bright yellow colour with a tall white head; aroma of lilies, spice; balanced flavour with a long, light bittersweet finish minutemat (5809) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2017
75cl bottle @ Chez Sophie tasting, Dec 2016. Pours a hazy blonde, good white head. Bright, spicy, citrussy aroma. Taste is similarly bright, spicy, fruity.. quite hoppy for a tripel although there are is a nice soft yeast base to this. Fair carbonation. Interesting and flavoursome. jjsiano (4) - Billerica, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 24, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2017 Wow. Had this when it first came out. Aged a bottle for 3 years and can't believe how good it is. Very fruity, very smooth. Seems much more complex than when new. Very solid offering from Sam Adams. sinfull (1728) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUN 8, 2017
Hazy , golden color. Big , white head. Spices, malt, flowers and candy sugar in aroma . Maybe a bit sweeter than regular tripel . Subtle notes of wood. Dry finish. Dangerously easy to drink.

Can’t lie, sucker for Tripels. High alcohol = sweet flavor. A little bit of spice, fruit and hops. Good blend.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2017 A 1pt 9.4 fl oz corked and caged bottle with a best before date of 1st February 2018. Poured into a Chimay goblet glass. It was a clear dark copper orange colour with a slightly less than two finger off white head that had great retention, eventually settling down to a nice creamy layer, while leaving great curtain like lacing. Aromas of Belgian yeast, banana, clove, honey and pear with hints of spice. Tastes of some light banana and clove at the beginning, followed by spice, candi sugar, orange and pineapple with quite a strong hit of alcohol on the finish. Creamy, full bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Overall it looks great, and smells nice, but the strong alcohol on the finish was quite harsh in my opinion. Bottle shared by a friend. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma of malt, pear, funk and banana. Malty and funky flavor with light banana before a pear finish. GoufCustom (2080) - HONG KONG - DEC 23, 2016

750ml cork bottle opened with loud “pop” bought at CitySuper in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Looks: Clear golden orange colour; Two finger head with long-lasting crumpety white foam; Beautiful sticky lacing with fizzy slight carbonation.
Aroma: Fragrant and fairly sweet malt, with fair pineapple, mango, orange, candied fruits, alcohol, very light funk, light phenolic, light floral, sugar, bread, Bel yeast and light herbal grass.
Taste: Medium sweet Pils malt, with light orange, light funk, strong alcohol, liquorices, floral, sugar, spices, very light cloves, light herbs, biscuits, strong Bel yeast, lemon, medium bitter hops and grass.
Body: Mid to full body. Thick and slick palate.
Mouth Feel: Strong Pils maltyness in a thick and creamy background. Strong booziness set the tone with dominating liquorices. Orangey-malty with nice floral. Low-fi funk and spiciness and lowly cloves. No barrel taste. Tasty medium sweetness. Biscuity with strong lemon to round. Pretty solid but…
Hoppiness: Light floral and light herbal grass in nose. Spice, floral, light herbs, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness - liquorice and hops - is fairly strong for a lasting, mid astringent sweet-bitter finish.
After Taste: Slightly dry. Malty and fairly bitter to mouth.
Comments: Tripel-wise, this one is fairly solid with strong characters in malt and booze with well-controlled sweetness, but the hoppiness aren’t that strong, and fruity ester is underwhelming. The supposed KMF and barrel factors are minimal. It’s all thunder with a light shower. Not worthy for a bomber treatment and quite disappointing.
Large sample from one of the strangely shaped bottles at a tutored beer tasting in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury on 15th Dec 2016. Hazy old gold pour, white head. The nose was floral, tropical fruity and spicy. The taste followed along the same lines: a little sweeter than the aroma suggests maybe but a fine beer all the same. smroush (292) - Michigan, USA - NOV 10, 2016
Aroma is subtlely spicy; hops are mild; malt is mild also, providing some bready aroma. Just a hint of tropical orange flavor.
Color is a clear light yellow; head is average size and off-white.
Taste provides mild bitterness and just a slight sweetness. The alcohol is not nearly as prominent as I expected given the 10% ABV. The carbonation is just a bit lively which works well with this beer.
Overall I like the mouthfeel - a combination of mild sweetness, acidity and carbonation. The mild sweetness, spice and slight orange flavor are pleasant.
Texture is interesting - it’s firmly crisp/acidic which nicely balanced especially the mild sweetness.
