Samuel Adams New World Tripel: Pale gold in color, this ale is big, flavorful and complex. A special Belgian yeast strain adds tropical fruit and spice notes to the crisp dry ale, while Saaz hops add a subtle herbal note.

Bottle. Pours hazy, light orange with a lasting white head. Aromas of fruit (grape/apple), yeast, moderate malts and light spice (coriander?). Similar flavor with some light caramel notes. Slightly boozy finish with a hint of wood.

750ml Bottle pours an orangey color with a thick frothy head. Fruity aroma. Lovely blend of malt and sweetness with a touch of spice. A great triple.

Corked and caged bottle. Strong fruity-yeasty nose with nice pils malt, light pepper, and tons of thrown-off esters. Pours deep, clear golden with a fizzy white head. Taste is yeast-heavy with some coriander and quick and heavy chest warming, but not brutal and free of burn. Clean, crisp full body but a little too airy, some spice and vanilla over the lemon. Light bitterness and medium sweetness (seems like too much here). Heavy bubblegum/clove, honey, and orange. I’m not getting "tropical", but it’s very fruity and lightly herbal. Perhaps a little too candylike or "childish" for what I’m usually looking for (namely: I like my triepls dry), and not one I’m likely to buy again, but there’s still quality there. Alcohol is masterfully hidden (seems like closer to 5.5-6% to me) and there’s an abundance of smooth grace.

Bottle: It’s brassy, bright and golden with lively, sticky, ample off-white head. Eventually dissipates with a lot of lacing. Aroma with notes of pineapple, caramel, bubble gum, alcohol. The flavor is sort of syrupy orange with honey and some warmth, slightly powdery bitterness, like aspirin, fades a bit as it warms. It’s tasty. Mouth feel is medium and a little slick/ oily. Pretty incredible Tripel all said and done.

A very good tripel. Pours a very nice clear orange with a bright white head. Smells of citrus, mostly lemon, and a little bit of vanilla and strawberry. Taste is a little different, mostly vanilla and tropical fruit, and a tiny bit of lemon. Boozy aftertaste. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bomber at mermaid juice. thanks to maverick for the shares. okay. this was okay - it’s my least favorite of the series that i’ve had so far. i get it - it’s exactly what it says on the bottle. i can’t tell if the reviews are good because people really like it or if people are just surprised that sam adams made this. hmm....

Bottle, shared with Parksy and others. Hazy bright orange pour, with lovely sweet fruity aroma, yeasty and wheaty (not sure whether wheat is in here, but it was in the nose). Moderately estery palate, fairly sweet without being cloying, apricots and melon. Not the biggest fan of tripels, but I enjoyed this one.
