3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Impressive tight-bubbled head that leaves extensive lace. Very cloudy with a orange-gold color--it glows in front of a bright light.
Lots of wheat and wild grains in the aroma. Very little Belgian yeast aroma, surprisingly. Blindfolded, I would think Wit.
Similar tastes to the smell, except for a notable alcohol presence. This is deceptively potent. Lots of carbonation with a moderate body--makes it seem thinner than it is truly is. The aftertaste is slightly sour with more of the distinctive wheat.
This could be describe as an extreme Wit. It does not remind me of a Tripel, which is far more malty and sweet.
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2017 Pours a hazy light copper with a white head. Aromas of malt and fruit. Taste the same with some alcohol warmth. Medium to light mouth feel. A little oak flavor also. Krade (2) - - OCT 31, 2017 does not count
Harsh to the palate. You have to get through the first few sips as tripels in general can be jarring. At first taste, is quite like cough syrup but then drinks almost like a blonde.

Getting some lemon and green apple...overall crisp and a little funky. Could use some more yeasty sweetness to make it creamier and balance the heavy acid. pintbypint (3834) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 30, 2017
1pt 9.4 fl oz brown bottle with a cork. Pours out deep golden with haze. Small white cap that clings to the glass. Nose has yeast, spice, herbs and citrus. Taste is herbal, citrusy and yeasty. Dry end with herbs and yeast continuing. Really nice. dfearnley (2317) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 14, 2017

Tripel. Golden-amber with a thick head. Light brett, sweet malts on the nose.. Thick malts on the palate, just a touch of brett. Effervescent. Just a light fruitiness and I'm not picking up too much wood.

(Bottle) clear, bright yellow colour with a tall white head; aroma of lilies, spice; balanced flavour with a long, light bittersweet finish minutemat (6063) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2017
75cl bottle @ Chez Sophie tasting, Dec 2016. Pours a hazy blonde, good white head. Bright, spicy, citrussy aroma. Taste is similarly bright, spicy, fruity.. quite hoppy for a tripel although there are is a nice soft yeast base to this. Fair carbonation. Interesting and flavoursome. jjsiano (3) - Billerica, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 24, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2017 Wow. Had this when it first came out. Aged a bottle for 3 years and can't believe how good it is. Very fruity, very smooth. Seems much more complex than when new. Very solid offering from Sam Adams. sinfull (1802) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUN 8, 2017
Hazy , golden color. Big , white head. Spices, malt, flowers and candy sugar in aroma . Maybe a bit sweeter than regular tripel . Subtle notes of wood. Dry finish. Dangerously easy to drink.
