4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
In my "fruitless" quest for the ultimate tripel, got this at a Rouse’s in Houma, LA. I remember asking the owner at de Bierkoning in Amsterdam what tripel might be good, and he shrugged disdainfully and said, "everybody makes a triple nowadays." This has zesty lemony attack and peachy/mango/apricot fruit; it has a nice kick with its 10%. The texture is rich & frothy as blonde beers go, and although the overall balance approaches sweet, a touch of tart and bitter round it out great. This beer makes it worthwhile to keep questing, and I would happily get it again.
Creamy, fluffy beige head left a cover on a hazy, dark orange, finely effervescent body.
Spicy fruit, oak, orange & berry aroma.
Medium bodied, well carbonated, clean on the palate. Dry.
Bitter, almost sour, fruity tastes of berries, candied fruit, spices, malt, caramel & quite well hopped. arn8897 (455) - Trenton, Ohio, USA - NOV 4, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2017 Pours a hazy light copper with a white head. Aromas of malt and fruit. Taste the same with some alcohol warmth. Medium to light mouth feel. A little oak flavor also. Krade (2) - - OCT 31, 2017 does not count
Harsh to the palate. You have to get through the first few sips as tripels in general can be jarring. At first taste, is quite like cough syrup but then drinks almost like a blonde.

Getting some lemon and green apple...overall crisp and a little funky. Could use some more yeasty sweetness to make it creamier and balance the heavy acid. pintbypint (3921) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 30, 2017
1pt 9.4 fl oz brown bottle with a cork. Pours out deep golden with haze. Small white cap that clings to the glass. Nose has yeast, spice, herbs and citrus. Taste is herbal, citrusy and yeasty. Dry end with herbs and yeast continuing. Really nice.

Aroma of anise, malt, orange liqour, coriander, and barley.
Taste is yeast, apricot, orange rind. Oakes (19370) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 13, 2017
Tripel. Golden-amber with a thick head. Light brett, sweet malts on the nose.. Thick malts on the palate, just a touch of brett. Effervescent. Just a light fruitiness and I'm not picking up too much wood.

(Bottle) clear, bright yellow colour with a tall white head; aroma of lilies, spice; balanced flavour with a long, light bittersweet finish minutemat (6226) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2017
75cl bottle @ Chez Sophie tasting, Dec 2016. Pours a hazy blonde, good white head. Bright, spicy, citrussy aroma. Taste is similarly bright, spicy, fruity.. quite hoppy for a tripel although there are is a nice soft yeast base to this. Fair carbonation. Interesting and flavoursome. jjsiano (3) - Billerica, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 24, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: JUL 24, 2017 Wow. Had this when it first came out. Aged a bottle for 3 years and can't believe how good it is. Very fruity, very smooth. Seems much more complex than when new. Very solid offering from Sam Adams.
