Sample from 12 oz bottle. Aroma is cinnamon, Belgian yeast, awesome. Pours golden with a medium head and nice lace. Taste is spicy--nutmeg and coriander definitely. Sweet with an aftertaste of bitterness. Highly carbonated. Oily. Very good. This is what I voted for in the Beer Lover’s Choice Longshot 2010 competition. I hope it wins! Duhast500 (414) - Cumberland, Rhode Island, USA - OCT 5, 2010
Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
The color is a slightly hazy light gold with a finger of foamy white head and some nice lacing.
The smell is a bit of a bitter flavor with a slight hop spicieness and a little earthy malt flavor as well. There seems to be a bit more malt then expected.
The taste is a hoppy at first with some citrus hop flavor. A little tangerine flavor with a slight pine flavor. It has a nice sweet malt flavor comes out and take over quite well. The bitterness is hidden a bit but is pretty interesting.
The feel of this beer was quite even and balanced well. There was a bit of an american hop spice flavor but not too overdone. Drinakble feel and this does go down well. An interesting offering from SA. I voted for this one to be made next.

sample from longshot tasting- The aroma is sweet cinnamon and yeast, the taste is very Belgium with a mild hop bite, full bodied, a very tasty beer. This is what I voted for in the competition for the 2011 Longshot beer. slowrunner77 (12133) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2014 well done and better than expected. the clear cut winner in my book. great body and balance of tropical fruity sweetness, spicy belgian yeast, and piney bittering hops. j12601 (12601) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 28, 2010
Had this while camping at BCTC this year. Pours a clear gold and light brown amber gold with a thin white head. Soft Belgian yeast, light hops and citrus. Yeast and wheat. Gentle long lasting bitterness. Very tasty. Definitely liked this one better than the other one.
durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 16, 2010
Sampled at Sam’s in Durham. Pours slightly hazy bright orange with generous white head. Nose is spicy and fruity hops. Not a lot of yeast or "Belgian" characteristics, but it’s nice and fresh. Similar taste. Solid. Leighton (21458) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 7, 2010
Bottle at Funky 6. Pours clear amber with a medium, white head. Nice and hoppy aroma with earth, pine and citrus, along with light bread and yeast. Lightly sweet flavor to start, then plenty of bitterness of flowers and citrus fruit. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with modest malts lingering, earthy bitterness. Good beer. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 24, 2011
Pours amber with a frothy, white head. Smells metallic, floral, perfumy, light citrus. Tastes dry and floral with a subtle, peppery bitterness on the finish. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2011
Bottle at Homebrew club meeting. Side by side with the Longshot winner, this is a much better beer. Pours a clear orangey copper with persistent and sticky white head. Nose is citrus with light pepper and clove notes. Nice hop character. On taste, the hops shine and work well with this yeast. Full and round, minimal astringency. Very solid Belgian IPA.
