COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This traditional lager is medium in body with a deep roasted character. Its dark color and rich malty flavor come from specially roasted caramel and chocolate malts. This brew is lightly hopped with Noble Bavarian hops for a soft spiciness and a smooth clean finish. Cheers!

Bottled. Deep brown, nearly black coloring with not much head. The flavor and aroma were dominated by caramel and chocolate that was slightly toasty. Pretty good.

Bottle. Aroma of roast, caramel and dark chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet with the roast malt flavors balancing.

Pours cola brown and settles in the glass with a black color. Creamy, khaki colored head of foam in top. Smells like a chocolate porter with some fig and caramel underneath.

Poured from 12oz bottle in the Sam Adams Fall Pack a near black with a short lasting tannish head. The aroma was of chocolate, carmel, and malt. The flavor is malt, yeast, and light chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium and very drinkable. The finish goes to the lingering chocolate and a touch of bitterness. Very nice to drink.

I am a Porter, Stouts, Dark lager drinker and honestly this beer is one of the best ones I've drink. I love that it is full body but it is malty and smooth. It is great with palate and it can be very refreshing as well. Over all one of my favorite beers I've had and I'm drinking a New Belgium 1554 Black Lager right now.

Smell is very light of darker malt...taste is a toasty malt, smooth with low diversity...but a good medium bold flavor...decent

From Sept 2005 Very nice Schwarzbier. Poured into a glass at just below room temp. Head dissipated fairly quickly, with just a fine lacing on the side. Pleasant smell of roastiness followed by excellent roasty flavour with hints of chocolate. Plenty of complexity and still a smooth drinker. A very good candidate for a session beer, imho.

Oooh, a new style yay! It pours slightly opaque black with a thin head. The aroma is cocoa powder and smokiness. The taste is more chocolatey than smoky and it has a pleasant smooth palate. Overall pretty decent and a nice change of pace in a variety pack. Good for hanging out with the family, playing fun party games, and watching a particularly deranged Nathan for You.

An enjoyable light but roasty beer. Smooth, medium body. Super tasty and drinkable.
