3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aromas of caramel and roasted malt. Poured a nice amber color with a fluffly white head that left some lacing. Hoppy flavors of toffee and some citrus. Dry, slightly bitter finish. Not quite as good as the Boston Lager, but a good beer nonetheless.

From Aug 2007
Purchased at Bi-Rite Drugs and Liquors in Casper.
Pours from 12oz bottle(best by Dec 2007) a clear nice deep gold with an ample head of foam into my very nice Sam Adams glass.
This foam just hangs around forever and it has a ton of lacing.(drinking this at slightly above room temp)
The smell is a nice blend of sweet malt and spicy hops.
The taste has a great malt flavour up front....semi sweet caramel dominates initially. In the background, I get some good hop character by way of hop oil and some grassiness. Further sips in and some grain shows up and it's all done very well. Very smooth, very tasty, both of which make it very drinkable. Now I'm noting some earthy tones as well. How the heck did this one fly so long under my radar?? Very very well crafted brew that I should start enjoying more often. The mouthfeel is just right for the style and the finish is just slightly bitter but overall, the balance just leaves me shaking my head. Darn good stuff!!

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2017 12oz Bottle- I think this is a great beer, Similar to basic Sam Lager but has a slightly sweet/earthy malt, subtle caramel finish that makes you want to drink more and more - The better of the two -It’s simple and tasty. You can drink many of these and won’t wake up feeling dried out and thirsty, like a hoppy beer with a higher alcohol content. It’s hard to come by for me but I will buy it if I come across it.

Bit funny. This beer I'm having is slightly different from what's written here. The ABV is 5.0% to begin with. But the rest of the stuff is similar so let's go. ***** AROMA: sweet caramel and malt, a bit of toasty toffee chocolate. Not sickly in smell, there is a constant floral note that balances it all out. Overall sexy, would take this beer out to a nice date. ***** APPEARANCE: nice light amber head when I first poured, fizzled out quickly. Assume it's because it's an old bottle that is about to expire this month. Half decent lacing and a beautiful orange colour tho. ***** TASTE: hoppy but not aggressive hoppy. Some lingering sweetness and a bit of herb but it's mostly a one-dimensional bitterness. Honestly not bad but hmmmm. ***** PALATE: high carbonation. Medium body. Bitterness prominent af. Bit underwhelming but okay. ***** OVERALL: bang on suits the style description. You may like the style, you may dislike the style but this is a good beer. I'd order it. tubic (7) - - SEP 6, 2017 does not count

Pours clear light brown , minimal head. Aroma,is pleasant caramel malt, hi rd of plummet fruitless. Aroma starts with sweet caramel, then hop bite, finishes more yeasty. Taste doesnt hang together quite,as well as the aroma, but a pleasant, fairly light flavorful beer. nybol (2459) - DENMARK - JUL 13, 2017

0,355 l Flasche mit 5,0%. Bernsteinfarbenes Bier, cremeweißer, flacher Schaum, schöne Gardine. Riecht malzig, intensiv nach roten Beeren und Portwein. Schmeckt malzig süß, leicht bitter, leicht alkoholisch, minimal fruchtig.
