COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

Aroma is cherries, mild chocolate and slight musty notes. The flavor is cherries, chocolate undertones, malts and a dryish/sweet finish.

12oz bottle from the 2013 Winter pack, pours a very dark brown with a red hue in the light and an off white head, not quite tan or brown, aroma is pretty much dominated by the cherry, a little bit of the chocolate sweetness comes through, but mostly cherry, the flavor is much of the same, a lot of cherry on the front end with some of the sweetness of chocolate in the finish, doesn’t really taste or smell that artificial and that’s what I was expecting coming in, not something I would want to slam a couple of but enjoyable.

12oz bottle from winter seasonal box. Pours black with creamy beige head. Smells like a chocolate covered cherry. Smooth chocolate flavor with tart cherry notes. Full creamy mouthfeel. I love their original Chocolate Bock, and this is an interesting and flavorful twist.

SpongeRuiner (1114) - Michigan, USA - OCT 21, 2013
On tap at Pete’s Place. Dark red color. Essentially no head. Very syrup like. Artificial cherry juice flavors dominate this one. Better than I thought it would be.

Drake (13639) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 21, 2013
Draft at Jack Brown’s, Harrisonburg. Pours a clear dark red color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of cocoa, cherries, mild noble hops. The taste is cocoa, chocolate, cherries, caramel. Thin-medium bodied.

Smells and tastes like cough syrup. Cherry juice is predominant. Not really a beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sperine (283) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 1, 2013
On tap at Blue Dog in Chalfont, PA. Are you sure this wasn't a Cherry Coke? My gateway beer was Sam Adams Cherry Wheat so I have a soft spot for this one, but I can understand why people would hate this beer. Incredibly sweet, more soda-like than anything.

Leafs93 (2292) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Pours dark amber with a off white head. Aroma is cherry, smells like Dr. Pepper. Taste is sweet with some tart cherry. Medium bodied, smooth and almost silky. Enjoyed.

Jow (3896) - New York, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Tap at Stagshead. Pours reddish brown with nice head and nose of chocolate covered cherries. Tastes just like a cherry coke not all that beery. U also get espresso, light leather, and some malt. If I was back in kindergarten this may be my favorite beer.

BrewBoxer (2632) - New York, New York, USA - APR 4, 2013
Draft at the pony bar in NYC. Deep black/purple color. Smells like a bock off the bat. Taste hits you with fruitiness and sugar. I taste the cherry and slight chocolate. Interesting ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
