COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

Rated on 10-28-2013 (Bottle from Krogers Marketplace-Fort Wayne, IN) This beer’s appearance is a large tan head that mostly diminishes, transparent ruby body, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is dark fruits and in your face cherries. The flavor is sweet, very cherry, chocolate, mildly tart, and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is smooth, watery and thin. This beer is light-medium bodied. The cherries are up close and personal which is a turn off for me. It is somewhat of a cloying beer and too artificial tasting.

Initial whiff is Dr. Pepper, cherry dies out in the flavor and gives way to the chocolate, with some cherry/Dr. Pepper in the background. Sweetness hides the alcohol content. Finish is dry and somewhat chalky. A bit sweeter than is the norm for a winter beer, but interesting nonetheless. Gets better with each sip.

chinchill (5025) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 28, 2014
12 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Pours very dark but clear with no sediment in the bottle. The tan head is thin and short-lived. Aroma: chocolate covered cherries, and not Godiva quality, with a faint bready malt base. Flavor: Thankfully, this is not nearly as sweet or candy-like as the smell suggests. Still, lightly sweet with prominent cherry flavor that eventually fades to let the chocolate come thru in the aftertaste. Feel: medium body with medium-light carbonation.

travita (5006) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 24, 2013
Bottle. The look is cola, a beige colored head, and dark. The smell is Dr. Pepper, cherry, fruits, cocoa, cola, and vanilla. The taste is more cocoa, malt, fruit, and interesting.

oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2016
Pours a muddy brown color. Aromas of cherries, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is a subdued cherry taste, not a big as I expected. Finishes like a cherry tootsie roll pop. Surreal taste, quite remarkable. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel.

Dark brown color. Decent head. Fresh smashed cherry aroma. Chocolate taste. Medium thick body. Very true.

Draft at mellow mushroom. Pours black with a thin khaki head though this might not be accurate since the beer was served in a refrigerated glass. Definite cherry notes on the nose but they’re more of the sticky sweet variety. Not getting much chocolate on the tongue but definitely more sweet cherry. Finishes clean. Not bad but hoping this was going to be better.

12 oz bottle. Deep ruby brown with an average sized cream colored head. Aroma is of maraschino cherries, chocolate ice cream, and cranberry sauce. Taste is of chocolate, sweet cherries, roasted malts, and caramel.

Cavie (4718) - Arlington, Texas, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark reddish color with rosy highlights. Beige head. Aroma is lots of cherry notes, and some roasted malts. Flavor is also lots of cherry mixed with some sweeter chocolatey notes. Wow this is actually pretty good. Well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Blairgus (4613) - California, USA - DEC 26, 2013
26 dec 2013, bottle. Dark burgundy/brown. Nose is canned maraschino cherries. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Cherries are tamed by toasted grain and almost a ginger ale flavor no guess it is nice enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
