Drank from bottle 11/2. Nice cherry aroma. Chocolate front with nice cherry finish. Enjoyable and a nice bock.
Bottle from Jungle Jims from notes. Pours a hazy brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, mildly tart cherry, light nutty character, chocolate, I did get the chocolate covered cherry more as it warmed, interesting enough. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2016
Pours a muddy brown color. Aromas of cherries, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is a subdued cherry taste, not a big as I expected. Finishes like a cherry tootsie roll pop. Surreal taste, quite remarkable. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. mar (5436) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 7, 2015
Deep brown almost black with a khaki head. Nose is chocolate, cream, cherry, little sweet. Smooth palate, lots of chewy chocolate, light cherry, cream, vanilla in finish. jw0406 (1301) - atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 20, 2015

Rated on 10-28-2013 (Bottle from Krogers Marketplace-Fort Wayne, IN) This beer’s appearance is a large tan head that mostly diminishes, transparent ruby body, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is dark fruits and in your face cherries. The flavor is sweet, very cherry, chocolate, mildly tart, and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is smooth, watery and thin. This beer is light-medium bodied. The cherries are up close and personal which is a turn off for me. It is somewhat of a cloying beer and too artificial tasting.

Sampled on 12/31/2014. This fruit beer pours a dark brown/black color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing and good retention. The aroma is fruity, bready and sweet, hints of cherry, chocolate, and dark fruit. A medium bodied fruit/bock beer. The malts are dark fruity, bready and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Nice balance of fruit, chocolate and malts. A touch sweet but very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some cherry. steve1966 (131) - Florida, USA - NOV 5, 2014
1 year old brew. Smell of faint cherries. Nice pour. First sip lots of chocolate wow. Some vanilla in there perhaps the cherry may have faded into the background a bit not sure how it was fresh. Easy drinking smooth finish. Really nice beer though not spectacular well done. You certainly have your chocolate and you have your cherry. Good enough. 12oz bottle -
Admittedly a HUGE fan of the Chocolate Bock but this was barely drinkable. It carries that same phony cherry flavor their wheat beer has and that was a turn-off. The aroma is really nice with a good, strong chocolate/cherry aroma but that’s the end of the positive review. Overly sweet, and for me the cherry/chocolate flavors didn’t work here. Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep-deep brown color with some red highlights seen shining through the brew. Upon pouring there is a small cream colored head. The head fades rather rapidly, leaving only a trace level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is a rather nice mix of a cherry smell along with a good dose of a sweeter milk chocolate. Mixed with these smells are some aromas of vanilla and a little bit of almond and some roasted malt smells. Overall the aroma is very much like a chocolate covered cherry cordial smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a lighter cherry flavor and a moderately strong milk chocolate taste. There are flavors of vanilla right from the start as well as some lighter notes of coffee and a rather decent level of a roasted malt taste. The cherry grows stronger as the flavor advances bringing with it lots of cherry sweetness. The roasted flavors that were in the front fade some as the taste advances with the sweeter chocolate flavor, like the sweet cherry, getting stronger toward the end. A light almond flavor comes to the tongue at the end for the taste, mixing the sweet chocolate and cherry flavors to leave a rather chocolate cherry brownie like flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is quite creamy for a brew of only 5.8% abv with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The creamy body and lower carbonation are good for the dessert like, sweet flavors of the brew coasting the mouth with all the sweet flavors.
Overall – While a bit too sweet and dessert like for a regular going to, an occasional encounter is in line as it makes for a good drinking alternative to a sweet dessert.

"Bottled for 2013. Yay!! I’ve long been a huge fan of chocolate bock, even when it was in big overpriced bottles. This could have gone so wrong. Cherry flavor can end up medicinal, but they really nail the cherry in this, especially in the nose. Slightly tart and complex and nearly perfectly balanced. The flavor is a little sweeter. A lesson in decadence from a 5.8% beer. Like German chocolate cake spiked with tart and sweet cherries. LOVE this. Wish I could get just this instead of the mixer :) Aroma 9.5, flavor 8.5."
