COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special release is brewed just for the holidays. For a new approach to a classic favorite, we added cherries to our traditional Chocolate Bock for a sweet, slightly tart note. Aged on a bed of dark cocoa nibs, the malty, chocolaty, and dark fruit flavors create a rich, complex beer perfect for winter. Cheers!

Bottle best before the coming March. Nose of glorious, unrestrained cherry juice with chocolate -- the immediate and irresistible association is to the over-sugared cherry-stuffed truffles found in cheap sampler boxes of chocolate usually exchanged around the holidays. And these are sweet maraschinos, skins and all, not the sour kind. Pours a deep brown-black which is a very dark ruby under light, plenty of carbonation and a short tan head. Taste is sweet cherry juice, but this one is unfortunately much less gustatory and much more medicinal. Tumbling malt complexity but not very deep, medium body and the carbonation has turned into a gentle fizz, and the expected wave of thorough chocolate is more like a disappointing dollop of tincture of cocoa nib. The base beer is Sammy’s generic earthy lager/bock, complete with pros and cons, but man, that cherry really grabs the limelight; others might be bothered ("too much! too much!") but I really get off on the strong ice cream associations and memories of long-forgotten girlfriends who did the damn thing with the cherry stems, even if they were duds where it counted.

Bottle. I really love chocolate cherry beers. Not as good as the O’fallon . cherry chocolate one but close. Very dark in color, tan decent head. Aroma is cherry and chocolate. Taste is chocolate cherry with a bitter after taste.

Winter pack from costco. Can smell the chocolate and cherry. Great taste and not overwhelming. Leaves aftertaste of chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Just about black in color with a minimal tan head. Lots of cherry and cocoa in the nose. The body was mostly full and the mouthfeel fairly thick. I tasted roasted malt and cocoa up front with the cherries and light hops coming through toward the end of the flavors. More cocoa and burn malt, along with a very pronounced cherry flavor were featured in the aftertaste.

Love the aroma -- smells like chocolate covered cherries -- sweet, cocoa, cherry pop tart, tangy. Good label, Sam longneck. Very dark brown, clear - but you can’t see very far through it. Tastes like chococherries as well, sweet, lots of bittersweet cocoa. Slightly biscuity and roasty in the finish, aftertaste is like the flavor. Walmart.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate cover cherries. Flavor is much more of the same with enough bitterness to keep it from going overly sweet.

Bottle. Dark brown to near black opaque pour with a short, dense brown head. Aroma is chocolate covered cherries, soft roasted malt notes, toasted dark bread and cherry cough syrup. Taste is chocolate covered cherries, soft roasted malt notes, light vanilla, cocoa, cherry cough syrup and maraschino cherries. Body is light-medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more chocolate covered cherries, cherry cough syrup, toasted malt, light caramel and dark bread. Not bad at all!

Part of their Winter Favorites 12-pack for winter 2013. Pours a dark brown with red highlights. The head is big, frothy, warm beige, has good retention and a little creamy lace around the edges of the brew. Smells like cherries at first, like Nibs, but after a while, darker malts come out giving some chocolate notes. Even hints of maple. The cherry is not as strong as their "Cherry Wheat" I had last night, but nicely balanced with the chocolate and coffee. A nutty flavours follows in the aftertaste. A nice blend of things in this one.

Deep cola-brown pour with ruby highlights and a rocky, tan head. The aroma has cordial cherry with Dr. Pepper and light vanilla. It has a full, thick body with average carbonation. The taste is sweet with a sticky finish.

~Strong cherry aroma like marachino cherries, chocolate, and bread. ~Pours a very dark brown almost black with lasting creamy yellowish head. ~Cherry flavor with lots of chocolate, pecan and bread. ~medium full bodied, medium low CO2, lingering chocolate bready finish. ~I like this better that the original chocolate bock. Cherries are a very nice touch to a delicious beer.
