Just released here in Iowa. Pours a golden pour with white head and good lacing around my glass. Smell of wheat, citrus, mainly lemons. Flavor of wheat and lemons. A pretty decent beer. wxman (1820) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - OCT 18, 2009
Pours a cloudy golden color with a respectable thick white head. Aroma is wheat malt and fruitiness. Taste is refreshing sweet malt, wheat nuts and mild citrus. Clean palate; little aftertaste. This is a pretty good effort, but I don’t understand why Jim Koch decided to charge a $1.50 more per six than all his other beers. It’s good but not $8.29/6PK good. I usually don’t like wheat beers, but this is excellent. Crisp and refreshing with a taste that lightly lingers in your mouth this might be one of my favorite new beers. I hope this brew is around for a long time. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2009
I expected more from Sam Adams but this really falls short. Not really going on with the aroma or flavor. It tries to be a unfiltered wheat ale but doesn’t really hold up to the bar. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 16, 2009
Bottled. Poured hazy medium golden with a tall, well-retained cap of white head.. left sticky lacing on the glass. The aroma picked up toasty banana and dirty wheat notes with accents of vanilla and meaty lemons.. fine balance between the soft malts and the wheaty character. The flavor had tangy lemon zest and wheat throughout, sitting on a bed of pale and bready malts.. tart, refreshing finish. Light-medium bodied with creamy carbonation on the palate.. dry, with a good flow to it.. this was very well done.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2009 Bottle from BevMo. Hazy orange in color upon pouring. Strong spiced aroma. Quite strong on the lemon. Spiced wheat flavors up front. Pretty strong on the lemon flavors. Strong grainy finish, which is kind of rich. Easy drinking, but not overly exciting. Odyn (266) - New York, USA - OCT 13, 2009
Lovely murky orange-gold color. Slight citrus aroma. Light in flavor and body without the yeasty taste that so many wheat beers have. Finishes quickly and cleanly. Easy going down and a good one for all day drinking. fitch256 (32) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 13, 2009
Bottle. My response to this was a resounding eh. The description from the brewery is deceiving in calling the lemon flavor subtle - it is not. I had trouble finding much difference between this and the Summer Ale. The immediate tastes are lemon and wheat. It’s a bit more bitter than I’d like as well; I was not terribly impressed by this one. The last few "new" beers that Sam has put out have been terribly average and underwhelming, I’m concerned they’re lowering their game. zach8270 (4022) - Henrietta, New York, USA - OCT 11, 2009
(bottle - 12 oz) Hazy straw color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is bready and smells a bit like lemon furniture polish. Lemon and dry wheat dominate the flavor. That’s about all I was able to taste. The lemon flavor lasted for a while. GMUcrew7 (577) - Mason, Ohio, USA - OCT 10, 2009
Pours a hazy straw color with a couple of fingers of white head that leave behind some lacing. Surprisingly faint aroma, wheat with some lemon and pepper. The flavor is a little better, crisp wheat highlighted by the light lemon. Nice and light and easy to drink but forgettable.
