2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 Pours a hazy yellow hue with a frothy white cap and thick lacing. Aroma is very yeasty with some orange peel and grain. Flavor is orange peel and wheat. Medium body, very little carbonation, sticky mouthfeel. Good beer but it doesn’t stand out in a crowd.
Old rating. Pretty standard wit with a bunch of winter spices. Forgettable SA fare. higgsbison (270) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2017
Certainly not worth the calories.
Sorry these notes were just for myself now I have to publish them and need more characters to do so, hence this sentence

Tried it 2 years ago, sad that it’s only seasonal but kind of glad that it is because one and run will never happen for me. Once that flavor hits my tongue it’s 4-6 and my belly is full.
A very filling and satisfying ale.
It gives you that feeling after you had a very satisfying holiday meal
12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 6/2017. Pours hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, plum, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, wheat, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, grass, light berry/clove, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, fruit/spices, and moderate bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, orange peel, plum, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, wheat, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, grass, light berry/clove, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange peel, plum, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, wheat, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, light berry/clove, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, fruit/spices, and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a nice malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly silky mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is a really nice witbier. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, fruit/spices, and moderate bready malt sweetness; very smooth and refreshing to drink. Extremely flavorful for the ABV; with awesome complexity and balance of all of the flavors. The plum/hibiscus was unique, but complimented the base style very well. A very enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle. Small off-white head atop cloudy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, some bubblegum, light banana, pepper. Taste is medium sweet, orange, candied orange, some banana, light yeast spicy, pepper. Light-medium body, some creaminess. SONOFWODEN (72) - New York, USA - FEB 17, 2017
I had this from the tap with a pasta dinner at a local Italian restaurant. It was good. Drinkable. Some head which didn’t last too long. Mild sweetness, some spice that also came out in the aroma. A little thin for me with a little too much carbonation but, for ordering at a restaurant that is not a brew pub, it was fine, but not something I would choose to buy for myself at a distributor. kassner (1701) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 14, 2017
Well it is different andi like it. Not just the lemon twist, complex spices and a nice cloudy refreshing beer. GoodDog (1) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - JAN 7, 2017 does not count
This is not a good Sam Adams beer. I’m not really an unfiltered enthusiast but this tastes like a cheap beer. Cool label design though JPDIPSO (6293) - Wauwatosa, USA - DEC 31, 2016
Hazy to cloudy golden/orange colored liquid. Smallish dense near white head. Scents of wheat, yeast, orange zest, licorice and light apple. Light sweet pale malt start. Citrus and mild spices kick in, which leads to a peppery finish and linger with pears and peaches. 1/14
