1.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Smells like cranberry and a damp basement. Color is reddish. Taste is similar to drinking cranapple juice when you leave it on the counter overnight. Please drink at your own risk!
Pours a golden copper color with white head. Slight tart cranberry aroma. Light malty flavor with a cranberry edge. Definitely not lambic. Bitterbill (2111) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 17, 2017
From Dec 2005
Poured in glass(room temp) with a smallish head that dissipated quickly. The colour is a cloudy reddish gold.
The smell is of some kind of sweetness that isn't all that attractive.
The taste is an unpleasant sweetness that has some sourness to it but that's not a saving point in this case. My goodness, this is a very difficult to drink concoction. Maybe serving this at very cold temps would help? Blech. gripweed57 (3162) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - JUL 11, 2017
From old tasting notes. Amber gold color with a pinkish head. Small bubbly white head. Tangy, fruity malt nose. Zesty tart malt palate. The tartness is offset by a hoppy bitterness that comes in the midtaste. Little finish or aftertaste to speak of. Pales in comparison to the Belgian Lambics. mstrcrwly (1000) - New York, USA - APR 4, 2015
As Denis Leary said in one of his stand up specials...he reached for a beer..took a big gulp and spit it out..Cranberry ale..beer is for drinking, cranberries are for bladder infections..’nuff said. chinchill (5545) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 27, 2015
12 oz bottle served in standard pint glass (from notes).
A - Pours a reddish copper; hazy with short tan head.
S - grape more than cranberry? Fruity and spicy belgian-style lambic aroma.
T - mix of sour, sweet and bitter, in that order. OK finish
M - smooth excepting slight bite
O: an unusual lambic that is not so sweet as to be delegated to dessert beer. Should pair well with some foods.

12 oz. bottle from foppa78- thanks again, Mat! So glad to finally get a hold of this gem. Pours a hazy reddish color, kind of dull, with a small white head that really just settles into a ring with a few wisps of film. Aroma of cranberry, vanilla, oak, caramel, banana, clove, and nutmeg. Kind of like a fruit pie. Flavor of cranberry, caramel, brown sugar, leather, earth, nutmeg, cardboard, and banana. Medium bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a fruity, juicy mouthfeel that dries on the finish. Not bad. Weird, but not bad at all. generallee08 (773) - New York, USA - JUN 22, 2014
The body has a hazy appearance with a deep reddish tan, rust color. On top it has a small slightly pinkish white head. The head slowly fades down to a thick ring that hangs on well and leaves some lace on the glass. The aroma hits you with tart wheat and tart cranberry along with cherry cough syrup, sweet maple syrup and a hint of yeast. The flavor has an odd mix of tangy wheat, tart cranberry, cough syrup, sweet grain, maple syrup, and just a hint of some yeast. The finish quickly goes from syrupy sweet to tangy and slightly acidic and then hangs on the tongue. The body is medium to full with a heavy slick and almost sticky texture. Carbonation is delicate and gets lost in the heavy texture.

12oz bottle 7/02 (Old Notes)-Pours reddish with a small head. Aroma of sour, cranberry, and sweetness. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is nicely balanced and not too shabby. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 17, 2013
