Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Dark, tar black pour, medium thick khaki colored head, decent web-like lacing. Spruce-like aroma with some earthiness and some fresh black dirt accents. Flavor has some brief licorice notes, some chocolate accents, muted citrus and an earthy back end of fresh potting soil. Mouthfeel is sufficiently thick and chewy. All in all, very solid as all from this series have been. keepersj12 (3133) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - MAR 3, 2012
Decent beer. it has a nice black color with a small slightly off white head. The aroma has bread and caramel, very little hops. The flavor has some roast malts and some caramel. The hops come through at the end of the sip. The finish is dry and bitter. jtclockwork (16691) - , New Jersey, USA - MAR 2, 2012

Great looking bottle and label. Inky beer, pours 5:1 foam to brew in a tall tumbler. Cool cascade effect in the tannish foam. Big malty IPA aroma - notes of raisins, orange peel and molasses in with the hops. Heavy body, strong roast/alcohol/hop bitterness. Chalky mouthfeel, chocolate notes, sweet, dark dried fruit flavors. Long, pleasant roast finish. Very enjoyable and complex. Market Square Liquors, Timberlane. bhensonb (15345) - Woodland, California, USA - MAR 2, 2012

bottle. pours black with a 1 finger tan head. big roast nose with citrus. med body with roast, light citrus bitterness, molasses, dark fruits, light chocolate and black malt. semi-dry finish with roasted malts, chocolate, light coffee, and a lingering citrus bitterness that sticks around. RollinHard (1024) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - MAR 1, 2012
Pours black with plenty of red highlights and a fluffy beige head. Aroma of pepper, grass, lemon, and a slight roastiness. Flavor of pepper, lemon, black coffee, toast, and a bit of toffee. Bitterness is building already. Finishes kind of acidic with pine, lemon, black coffee, and there’s a lingering burnt and slightly ashy finish. Medium bodied, nice creamy mouthfeel and no noticeable heat. Decent beer, but I wish the replaced "IPA" with "Porter" on the label. Baltic porter = exciting, black IPA = ehhh.
