3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice dark brown body with a tan head that had some retention and good lace. A nice blend of roasted and caramel malts, nice citrus hops which seemed to complement the roasted character. Flavor had a nice roasted profile and was mildly sweet from the caramel mats. Hops seemed to have a nice level of bitterness. Really easy to drink. It was not watery or watered down but it did not have much of a mouth feel.
bottle @ Liquor Barn / Lexington KY --- Aroma of malt. Clear dark brown with orange edges, deep tan two-finger head that never quits, dots and spots of lace. Taste is rich malt and toffee with a chewy body that avoids being thick or heavy. Medium fizz on the swallow leads to an edgy citrus hop finish that is leavened by it-never-left toffee. Well-balanced, complex, great body, an overall solid beer that I will drink again. (I started the bomber thinking I would rate and dump the rest, but not this one. Game on!) oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 9, 2016

Bomber. Pours brown with a tan head and aroma of hops and roasted malt. Taste is hoppy as well with pine and citrusy notes finishing with roasted malt and toasty notes into the bitter finish. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - OCT 22, 2015
Pours a very deep brown/black color with an amazing tan, very cream head that has very strong staying power. Nose is very well balanced between a heavily toasted malt and a pungent citrus and bitter hoppiness. Flavor starts off a sweet caramel note but quickly transitions to a toasted Baltic porter flavor with a good dose of citrus and resiny hops. Body is very dense and high but very fine carbonation which is perfect. This beer had been aging a bit and seems really, really good with a little age (1-1.5 years). Overall a very good offering by sam. rollinsr (831) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - AUG 15, 2015
Pours midnight brown with fluffy tan head. Aroma is strong dark and figgy with mainly dark fruit notes. Flavor carries the fruits with some chocolate nutty dark malts as well with a smoky aftertaste. Beerdedone (3480) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 8, 2015
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, pine, coffee and chocolate. Flavor of roasted malts, chocolate, pine, molasses, citrus and light caramel. Svesse (8932) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 14, 2014
(Bottle) Brownish black colour with lasting, frothy, beige head. Roasted, hoppy nose with notes of black rye bread, pine needles, orange peel, dark chocolate, prunes, coffee and hints of mint. Malty, roasted taste with black rye bread, orange peel, prunes, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, black coffee, molasses and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Quite sweet for a black IPA, making it more like a hoppy brown porter (which seems to be some of the idea here). Not the most refined in the style, but still a nice one.
