Pours a clear, pale golden orange color with light edges and a two finger frothy, pillowy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Good retention with splotches of soapy lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with a subtle grassy hop notes but the pine, citrus and tropical fruit notes promised on the label are nowhere to be found in the nose. Kind of bland with floral hops followed by bready yeast, caramel malt and toffee. Hopefully it tastes more like an Indian pale than it smells.
On the lighter end of medium bodied with a crisp hop bite which provides some dry bitterness that lingers over the lager yeast into a slightly dry finish. Some sticky pine needle and grassy hop notes but again, the citrus and tropical fruit notes are undetectable to my palate. Caramel malt backbone with hints of caramel, toffee, bread and biscuit. Really disappointing considering what I was expecting. The idea of a west coast style hoppy lager is intriguing but this was just a boring lager with a slightly aggressive, one dimensional hop profile. mar (5469) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 20, 2015
Gold pour with a white head. Fruity malts, dough, earthy hops and light spice. Nice palate earthy grain, hops, dough, caramel and a sweet finish. Atom (2618) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 2, 2015
12oz bottle pours a clear copper/orange with a large off-white head. Aroma of stale caramel malt, modeling clay, and fruity hops. Taste of mellow smooth caramel malt, some earthy mineral yeast qualities, with some lightly present hops. Not impressed, just meh. guzzler67 (1696) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - MAY 14, 2015
Clear amber appearance with an average size, off white head and light lacing. Tropical fruit and lemon are prominent in the aroma. Resinous, piney hop characteristics more pronounced in the taste. Aftertaste has a earthy, citrus edge. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel with a medium length finish. Beerdedone (3496) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 14, 2015

had a few years ago..and was pleasantly surprised at the hop profile on this one.. ALLOVATE (3095) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 1, 2015
As far as aroma with all those hops it seems they act to cancel each other out instead of complimenting. Quite a sweet and muddled nose with caramelised blood orange and tangelos dominating an otherwise piney, woody and nutty backdrop with the faintest hint of kelp and burnt matches. Settles in the glass a misty, pastel orange with little life and a wash of suds atop. A much cleaner and refined palate is displayed. Lighter than expected in body with tight, spritzy carbonation. Quite tart with a vinous quality seeing through to a dry, white wine and sour berry finish. Quite a medial bitterness that is lost underneath the fruit. Malt is biscuity like fresh baked rock cakes. Not exactly an exciting number it pales against other lagered India pales I have tried. May be a re-rate of a fresher batch is needed. Rated on 11-01-2013 (Bottle from Kroger’s Marketplace-Fort Wayne, IN) The aroma is citrus, pine hops, grapefruit, fruity and malt. The flavor is moderately bitter, citrus, pine hops, grapefruit and malt. The mouthfeel of this beer is watery and thin. It is a light bodied beer. Overall, a quaffable hoppy tasting beer that is worth trying. mkel07 (6574) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAR 4, 2015
Bottle from Brewhouse Brisbane 040315. Thin bodied but seems full in the mouth. Definite lager characteristics but also some ale qualities as well, confusing the senses. hopdog (13315) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2015
12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a larger sized head. Stale hops, some lighter fruitiness, and lighter citrus.
