COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

Sam Koch is a kook. Like his beers or not his passion and spirit make for some fun (and good) beers. This ipa, pardon me, ipL is good. Pours a nice golden color with amber hues and a big thick fluffy just off-white foamy head. The aroma and flavor are a little grassier than your average ipa or apa. Flavor is of a grassy, flat ipa, but not in a bad way (just dont know how to describe it with more positive words).

12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent dulled orange copper color, half finger foamy off tan head formed and laced nicely upon the vessel, light carbonation. Aroma of lemon, citrus, and some pine. Hits the mouth with a high medium body, malt was barely sweetened at all with caramel as a good size hop cresent in the middle comes, finish if finely acidic. ’MERICA!

Bottle. I don’t like many beers by this brewery, but this one is not too shabby. Pours a clear gold with a frothy head. Aroma is citrusy. Flavor is herbal and floral with some citrus notes. You can still taste the "lager". Somewhat full bodied. It’s ok.

Bottle. Hazy light amber body. Frothy, off-white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of leafy hops, toasted grain, grass, lemon peel, spice. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of pine, resin. Aftertaste of raw grain and fresh, leafy hops. Thought it could be cleaner, crisper.

Slightly tropical citrus and pine hop aroma. Flavor is remarkably rich and hoppy. Tangy tropical hops. Well rounded flavor from start to finish. Must be the lagering. My only complaint is that it is a bit cloying and full bodied for a 5% offering. Tasty but not all that refreshing.

12oz bottle over at kristin’s house. Clear copper pour. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Tastes are grass and funky malt. Little resiny. The lager is more in the background. Pretty ok.

Nicely integrated hop profile with a good amount of depth. Dry finish, highly sessionable. Probably my favorite beer I’ve tried from boston beer co.

Pours light amber, big pine and hops on the nose. Tastes of citrus and pine. This is a really impressive brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ml bottle in New York. Pours a light amber with a white head. Aroma is fruity/grapefruit, & pine/caramel. Taste of light pine, spruce, light floral, and light carame. Palate mostly comes through like an ipa slightly above the average especially in the nose. Pleasantly surprised with this one!

355 ml bottle. Pours a clear pale golden with a nice white head. Aroma is lemon, citrus. Flavor is fruity, fresh cereals, cake, honey. Finish is sweet, citrusy, floral. Lingering lemon and other citrus. Light to medium body, weak carbonation. Great summer beer.
