Nice amber/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, nice floral hops, & grain; Flavor of malt, hops, grain, and some citrus; Nicely balanced; Surprised by this one - pretty good. BreWedge (539) - goose bay, Newfoundland, CANADA - JUN 13, 2013
12 fl oz bottle sample. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a large off-white head. Aromas are nice citrus and some light sweet malts. Taste is well balanced between bitter citrus and a cereal like malt. Clean, crisp, and well balanced on the palate with a medium astringent finish. This is a really nice beer reminiscent more of an APA than an IPA. rollinsr (773) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - JUN 12, 2013
Pours a clear light amber with frothy almond head. Aroma is strong citrus with sappy pine notes. Flavor has a slight initial bitter bite that slowly recedes across the palate. Nothing too stand-outish but there is nothing bad about this one. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Bottle from the summer 12-pack. Ticker’s delight, if not necessarily taster’s delight. Looks and pours much like other SA beers, medium orange with a fine, filmy head. Nose is a bit sharper, though, with a dry, bracing quality that one expects from a crisp lager but backed up by abundant tropical notes. Flavor wasn’t quite up to the promise for me, as it came together in a too indistinct sweetness, and the dry notes weren’t prominent enough for my tastes. Solid though. steve1966 (131) - Florida, USA - JUN 11, 2013
aroma typical of grapefruit andpine ipa time...finish is bit different than an ipa thats the only difference i can tell this thing is hoppy as hell..nice head that stays has that SA signature taste hops strong on the tounge darker than a pale lager well done Sam!!!

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a solid dark copper color with a two finger head of frothy, off white foam. The nose is hop forward with spicy noble hop notes (despite there being none used in the recipe), light florals, and trailing malt notes. Surprising body on the tongue, but not to the point of being heavy. Solid use of hops for a good bitterness, start to finish. The same spicy and floral notes come through. A little biscuit malt comes through, but you have to look for it. Medium bodied with a lingering bitter finish. I would mind a little more crispness, but still very good. 12oz bottle compliments of Zac. Really cool idea and they pulled it off. It had the easy refreshing aspects of a lager with just enough IPA hop bite to make it interesting. Well done. retinadoc (237) - - JUN 7, 2013
Bottle. Pleasant, slightly fruity aroma with above average carbonation. Initial taste is sweet and hoppy, with faint citrus notes, but then overwhelmed by a bitter citrus mouth feel. Finish is quite bitter. I prefer other SA offerings. Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUN 6, 2013
12oz bottle pours crystal clear deep gold with copper hues and supporting an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet malts, citrus hop notes and a fairly lager yeasty esteriness. Pretty nice. The taste starts with citrus bitter tangerine hops and then moving into complimentary grainy malt notes and sweet lager yeast fruity esters. It comes together nicely and the sweet esters are kept in check and only add a small facet to the flavor experience rather than take it over. Draft at Moriartys. Hazy dark orange amber with an impressive frothy head. Strong floral/bready character. Noble hops floating on top. Feels like a mix of a Lager, IPA and Wheat Beer. Burnt orange. Sage. Pepper. Challah bread. Spicy marmalade. Full body. Surprisingly pretty good. Probably the best thing I have had from Sam Adams so far.
