Mean grapefruit and pine resin aroma, faint pale malts in the background, Clear, moderate carbonation, light orange color of strong lager. Taste is stinging bitter and sweet subtleties. India Pale Lager is the new front for brewers, but all suffer from the lack of weight in relation to the hop content. The body is crisp, yet not forceful. A one note song here, but a great, well played note. DSG (14838) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - MAY 14, 2013
Bottle. Nice clear amber color with a fruity off-white head. Nice aroma of citric and floral hops with piney notes and some caramelly malt. Flavor has sweetish caramelly malt, citric and piney hops and a moderately bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Quite nice. badhack (554) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Great beer. The clarity of a lager and the hoppy finish of an IPA. Aroma was hoppy, floral and citrus and the flavor was a clean lager malt with an unmasked hop finish. Quite good! Bvdubn (17) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2013
I guess when you are the largest craft brewer you can make your own styles. It's good but not great. Definitely some hop presence but still mellow enough to be easy drinking. The lager flavor is really lingering in my mouth.

Pours a clear bronze with about a finger of beige head that leaves some soapy lace behind. Nose involves honey and biscuits, some herbal perfume, light pine resin and citrus notes. Fairly sweet but quite a bit more bitter. Lighter side of medium bodied, active, a touch oily, with a crisp bitter finish. A pretty cool brew, nice hop and malt combo, and certainly easy drinking.

great lacing, wonderful orange color. Smell of pine and grapefruit and a touch of malt. Grapefruit/floral taste very balanced with some pine on back end.Maybe the best lager on the planet! skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Pours a golden light orange with a one finger white head which leaves nice lecing throughout. Aroma is of citrus, pine, sweet bready malts, and some grassy hops. Taste is citrus (mainly grapefruit) pine, sweet bready malts, caramel, and some grassy notes. Had a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel with a semi dry, moderately bitter, moderate finish. Overall, a tasty mix of a IPA and lager that is a nice surprise from Sam Adams. Strangebrewer (1309) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 8, 2013
bottle. Poured clear gold with a white frothy head. Piney hop aroma. Medium mouthfeel, soft carbonation with a tart sticky finish. Orange citrus flavour with a grassy herbal note. Aluman (21) - Grants, New Mexico, USA - MAY 6, 2013
A very pleasing blend of the hops involved in an IPA, good over all citrus and fruit notes with a hint of good pine in the back end, and lager smoothness. degbert (1773) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark gold-orange with a high, fine-grained, cream-colored head. Nose is herbal and floral, but also has a vanilla-like note. A lot of toffee-like sweetness on the open, with hops citrus and some bitterness on the midpalate. More citrus on the close, and a very pleasant smooth, rich mouthfeel. Not a lot of carbonation. Quite nice.
