Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

Bottle. Pours a clear orange gold with large frothy off white head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong pine and grapefruit. Thin mouthfeel with a strong citrus and light hop with nice crisp finish. Easy to drink, a very good premium lager.

12oz bottle poured into a Shaker at 40. Color is a light golden with good carbonation and a small rocky head. Aroma is hoppy with bold grapefruit and pine scents. It has a medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor comes in with citrus and pine then fruity malt and a mild bitterness that gives a bit of spice. After taste is clean with lingering bitterness and citrus. Overall its just like a good IPA, doesnt seem all that much smooth being a Lager.

Well in some ways this is kinda like SABL that has been hammered with hops. It has the same smooth rounded malt profile of SABL, but a big resiny, catty, spicy hop nose and flavor profile. Fairly enjoyable but the hops were maybe a little on the harsh side, got a bit tiresome to drink after awhile.

Tasty and smooth brew. Malt flavors are slightly toasted and only mildly sweet. Hops provide decent flavors and a balanced bitterness. Easy drinking and sessionable.

Poured a clear copper color with a thick soapy head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, floral, toast, and cereal. Taste is pine, grapefruit, floral, grass, caramel, and a nice bittersweet finish. Very good beer and wish it was available in a six-pack.

Clear Golden Color with moderate carbonation. Smell is very piney hop and citrus forward. Flavor is very piney hop heavy, along with strong citrus and yeast note; Aftertaste is quite resiny. Body is light along with the carbonation. Good beer overall

12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a Sam Adams glass. Aroma: Wow, this is actually pretty hoppy! Very citrusy; especially grapefruit. Appearance: Transparent light amber with a soapy white head. Taste: Not as hoppy as it smells, but still quite citrusy. Palate: Medium body, somewhat of a lingering finish. Overall: I was expecting this to be just a watered-down IPA, but its really...interesting. Has all the aroma of a strong IPA, the citrus and (somewhat of a) hop character of an IPA, but drinks like a lager. Really interesting beer. Worth a try!
