Clear Golden Color with moderate carbonation. Smell is very piney hop and citrus forward. Flavor is very piney hop heavy, along with strong citrus and yeast note; Aftertaste is quite resiny. Body is light along with the carbonation. Good beer overall wildbeercat (359) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 6, 2013
12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a Sam Adams glass.
Aroma: Wow, this is actually pretty hoppy! Very citrusy; especially grapefruit.
Appearance: Transparent light amber with a soapy white head.
Taste: Not as hoppy as it smells, but still quite citrusy.
Palate: Medium body, somewhat of a lingering finish.
Overall: I was expecting this to be just a watered-down IPA, but it’s really...interesting. Has all the aroma of a strong IPA, the citrus and (somewhat of a) hop character of an IPA, but drinks like a lager. Really interesting beer. Worth a try! mansquito (7148) - Nueva York, New York, USA - APR 6, 2013
Hop Devil Grill, NY tap ($7): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is passion fruit, pine, and some citrusy stuff. Taste is pretty much the same. The hops are more flavorful and fruity than they are bitter. The body is light for easy chugging. I think SA successfully combined the elements of lager with those of an IPA. Poured from bottle. Nice light amber color. Slightly grainy. Light feel with heavy hop flavor. Mittenator (1612) - Michigan, USA - APR 5, 2013
Bottle. Light amber with medium whit head. Caramel and hop aromas. Similar flavors with grain at the end.

12oz bottle, from Party Source. Best by: July 2013. Clear orange color. Good thin off-white head, decent retention. Good lace. Medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry overall, but a good ample body, still. Nice bitter taste, very little sweetness. Bready lager aroma, but very satisfying crisp hop flavor. Nice grassy light floral and pine. Some citrus. Light spice. Good hop bouquet. Nice long hoppy aftertaste, with bready lagery malt mixed in there, too. Really good, satisfyin stuff. Smooth, easy drinking, and very tasty, and also very interesting at the same time. LKT1983 (114) - Benton, Kentucky, USA - APR 4, 2013
Quite a concept; plenty of hops to satisfy the coneheads out there, but smooth enough for everyone to enjoy. savnac (2656) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - APR 3, 2013
12oz bottle. Clear yellow orange with a thick, frothy head and some lace. Aroma is all hops with citrus, floral, pine and pineapple. Flavor is light malt with a firm hop bitterness and a clean yeast profile. Light body with average carbonation. Great hybrid beer, the hops take center stage in the aroma with a clean malty backbone. bagalagalaga (161) - Indiana, USA - APR 3, 2013
Well, apparently Sam Adams innovation of cramming a bunch of hops into a lager really resembles a classic IPA to me. It seems like mostly the bitter piney kind of hops flavors are winning out in this one. jmagnus87 (3302) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2013
12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a light rust orange with minimal head. Aroma of huge tropical citrus fruit. Taste is medium bitter. Citrus and tropical fruit with a hint of earthy pine. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a super long finish. Overall, very good. Somewhat unbalanced but the mix of flavors from the hops totally makes up for it.
