COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

Clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is light, slightly grassy hops. Flavor is a little hoppy but finishes clean and effervescent. Very nice lager with a little bite, makes for a pleasant session beer.

12oz bottle pours medium orange color with white head that doesn’t last long. Minimal lacing on the glass. You get that citrus hop aroma and some malt. Flavor has a good boost of hops but mild on the tongue. Bitterness is hidden well. The is also a bite in the flavor not from hops but from the lager base. Very clean and refreshing.

Wow, did not expect this from Samuel Adams. Thier beers are accetable for the most part, but this is really good. Coppery pour with nice white hewd. Aroma is nice mixture of lemon and hops. Sweet and bitter are fairly well balanced.

Aroma is very hoppy. Lots of citrus. Flavor is very clean being a lager. I’m enjoying the hoppy lagers! Flavor is bitter and reflects the citrusy hopping. The palate is clean and finishes dry. Very good beer from the spring thaw pack.

Mildly bitter/hoppy, not as hoppy as most IPAs but nonetheless fresh. Decent head, very drinkable.

Bottle via Wolf! Reddish pour, decent little head. Nice pine aroma. Taste follows the nose... Lots pine, pineneedles, light grass. Little sweet in the after taste.. Hoppy.... Medium body, crisp. Pretty good lager beer

3/3/13. 12oz bottle from Proof in Tallahassee. Clear copper pour with a nice white head that fades and laces surprisingly well. Rich hop aroma with plenty of citrus and dank with some pine and caramel and doughy almost pilsner malts. Lighter flavor with caramel and doughy malts and a touch of citrus. Not bad.

Location/Date:Bottle on 3/2/2013.

Appearance: Pours a clear darker orange.
Aroma: Medium bitterness, piney, some grapefruit.
Taste: Medium bitterness, piney, some grapefruit.
Palate:Medium light body, slightly sticky, lingering aftertaste

Summary: Really surprised by this one. Lots of flavor for not much alcohol. I don’t know if it truly is a "premium lager", but this is some good stuff.

Taster at Armanetti’s, Aurora. Am I wrong for liking this one so much? Don’t think so. Sampled from a fresh bottle, I get loads of hops in the nose; citrusy more than piney. More hops when I taste it, but managed by a fine malty backbone. I could call it a "clean lager finish" if not for so much hop lupulin sticking in my mouth.

A delicious beer and a great concept. Aroma was decent. Grapefruit, pine and lager. Pour was a nice, clear and bubbly medium gold with a thin white film for a head. Taste was nice, crisp and refreshing. Started off very pilsener-like. Light grains balanced perfectly the citrus hops. The hops don’t overpower but make a great bitter presence. Nice carbonation. Will buy more of this in the summer if it’s still around.
