COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

MALT VARIETIES Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend and Munich malt
HOP VARIETIES Zeus, Simcoe, Citra, Ahtanum, Cascade, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin hops

Bottle - Pours amber with a foamy white head. Nose is big garlic/onion hops, with some citrus and a clean pale malt base. Same taste, though the malt is grainier and a bit rustic. The hop blend on this is just fantastic, making it one of the few imperial pils that I’ve liked--maybe the only one.

Very nice nose, citrus and floral hops notes. Pale clear and gold appearance. Crisp clean, hoppy and nutty taste. Drinkable.

Great hoppy aroma but something is amiss in the taste. Not liking the finish. Tasted at the A6P. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Moriartys. Hazy dark orange amber with an impressive frothy head. Strong floral/bready character. Noble hops floating on top. Feels like a mix of a Lager, IPA and Wheat Beer. Burnt orange. Sage. Pepper. Challah bread. Spicy marmalade. Full body. Surprisingly pretty good. Probably the best thing I have had from Sam Adams so far.

A nice hoppy flavor that is very constant. It's bitterness is like pony with a low malt presence. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle - pours caramel with a finger of white head and decent lacing. Nose is pine and citrus. Flavor adds caramel. does not taste like a pale lager at all: moderately bitter. light to medium body. at first I was skeptical about it being a pale lager and expected to rate it a 2.6 or something, based on style. expectations exceeded for sure.

This was unexpectingly delicious and refreshing. The aroma is light citrus and juicy hops, the citra and the unique twist of Nelson is nice. The flavor is hops up front followed by lightly sweetened lager yeast and malts that settle pleasantly on the palate with a bit of the hops revisiting to finish up.

Nice hops on the nose, floral, spicy, citrus. Some caramel as well. The appearance is clear amber/yellow, white head. The flavor is hoppy, floral, some caramel. Floral hops on finish. Medium in body. Enjoyable.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2014 Bottle: Perfect amber & copper with exceptional clarity from head to toe. Foamy, white head reduces quickly to a thin skin that lasts for a while, leaving extremely spotty lacing. Aroma is light, with bits of orange peel, vegetal & leafy hops, light white pepper, mild onion notes, grass, and some steel-tinted caramel. Faint citric notes throughout the aroma as well. Taste is crisp & snappy with lots of lemon and grapefruit pith up front, leaving a nice bitter bite on the tongue. Lemon & orange zest, leaves, grass, and a touch of pine. Mild back-end peppery spice and light onion notes, though not off-putting. A touch of balancing sweetness from the borderline caramel-tasting Munich malts; finish is still dominated by fading hop bitterness. Pretty good option for a hoppy session beer.
