Draft at Global Brew. Pours a clear gold with a nice white head. Aroma is spicy and grassy. Taste is smooth quenching lager with sweet pale malt and mild spicy hops. skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Pours a golden light orange with a one finger white head which leaves nice lecing throughout. Aroma is of citrus, pine, sweet bready malts, and some grassy hops. Taste is citrus (mainly grapefruit) pine, sweet bready malts, caramel, and some grassy notes. Had a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel with a semi dry, moderately bitter, moderate finish. Overall, a tasty mix of a IPA and lager that is a nice surprise from Sam Adams. Nephilium (1821) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - APR 15, 2013
Nice big hop aroma, pours a clear light amber with a thin white head. Nice big hop bite with a very light body. This is a lager for the hophead, bitter hop notes with citrus being predominant. This is a great sessionable beer, and one I’ll be picking up more of. Finhead (1816) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JAN 22, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 28, 2013 Clear, deep gold with a white head. The malty aroma has some bread and cereal notes. The light body has an oily texture with lively carbonation. It has a mildly bitter taste with a dry finish. beertholomeus (1814) - California, USA - APR 20, 2014

Bottle. Great beer. Loved the rich citrus hop taste that one finds in a IPAD but had that crisp refreshing finish of a lager. Great stuff. keanex (1799) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - MAR 7, 2013

Appearance: Clear amber body with fine carbonation bubbles. The head is white with an average sized with decent retention, settling into a messy coating.
Aroma: The aroma is strong of citrus, lemon comes to mind, with a touch of pine, a slight lemonade tea aroma.
Taste: The malts balance the assertive hops nicely. The hops come on strong at first with a lemon flavor that leads to a half and half lemonade/tea mix flavor that I got on the aroma. This isn’t bad, but I swear this smells like an Arnold Palmer.
Palate: Medium bodied, crisp, with snappy carbonation.
Overall: This is yet another decent Sam Adams beer. They really have a knack for brewing solid beers that I have a hard time complaining about. I rarely love their beer, but it’s usually going to be worth drinking.
Grabbed a sixer for Thanksgiving. Pours from the bottle a mostly clear dark golden color with small white head. Aroma of bready malts, lemon peel, sweet honey, grapefruit. Smells like a malty DIPA. Flavor follows as expected, big bready malts, lemon peels, sweetness, really like a malty DIPA. Slick body, medium high carbonation, big flavor for only 5%. Not bad, but was hoping for a lighter on the malt body and bigger aromatic hop profile. Zeswaft (1783) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 2, 2013
Slightly tropical citrus and pine hop aroma. Flavor is remarkably rich and hoppy. Tangy tropical hops. Well rounded flavor from start to finish. Must be the lagering. My only complaint is that it is a bit cloying and full bodied for a 5% offering. Tasty but not all that refreshing.
