12oz bottle. I agree with the description mostly, I found it pretty delightful from start to finish. This is the kind of brewing innovation I like - taking an underrated style and redefining it. Bitter but not unpleasant, very very fresh aroma and taste. Well done! cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Clear pale bronze in color with a short-med head. Good retention. Aroma of spicy hops and clean malt. Medium bitter flavor. Light body, oily texture and a long, crisp, bitter finish. More of a pils than a lager. The hops do come off like an ipa. Solid. mstrcrwly (1000) - New York, USA - APR 8, 2015
had a few years ago..and was pleasantly surprised at the hop profile on this one.. Bebum (993) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 14, 2013
Pale gold, clear, loose textured white head,
Medium body, bright, refreshing, mouthfeel, with avg carbonation.
Very bitter but not dry, which somewhat balances it.

12oz bottle into a pint glass
Pours a crystal clear medium copper with a one finger white head. The head hangs around in some form nearly throughout with really nice lacing.
Aroma is quite a shock as it is much more than I was expecting. Tons of tropical fruit character with orange, tangerine, mango, and some pineapple. There is a little bread trying to poke through but it is nearly all hops.
The flavor has the same punch of tropical hops up front and it is really pretty strong and juicy. Adds a real nice layer to what would otherwise be a pretty typical lager. Beneath the hops there are notes of bread and caramel that is very reminiscent of other Sam Adams lagers. One can definitely tell that this is a Sam Adams beer. Bitterness is on the mild side with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a little bit of a sticky finish.
Overall, one of the better beers I have had from Sam Adams. I really love the hops and the crispness the lager yeast gives. This beer is highly drinkable and provides an added bonus of great flavor. Definitely one to pick up.

Sam Koch is a kook. Like his beers or not his passion and spirit make for some fun (and good) beers.
This ipa, pardon me, ipL is good. Pours a nice golden color with amber hues and a big thick fluffy just off-white foamy head. The aroma and flavor are a little grassier than your average ipa or apa. Flavor is of a grassy, flat ipa, but not in a bad way (just dont know how to describe it with more positive words). tennessejed420 (940) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 11, 2013
pours amber gold with finger of yellow off white froth. Aroma of grapefruit, hay, apricot. Medium bodied, with a smooth, corn lager like finish. Classic samual adams malts prominent. Flavor is modestly bitter, grapefruit rind, balanced with soft caramel and hay. Pretty good, nice drinkable lager with character. arone12 (929) - Maryland, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Didn’t know this would be a premium lager. Tastes more like a pale ale. Nice hops with some malty character. Good beer. Go ravens. ExpendableHero (924) - Florida, USA - MAR 31, 2014
This was fantastic. Hazy golden beer with a white head. Strong aromas of hops and tropical fruit. Tastes of floral/pine hops, some honey, sweet malts, and grapefruit/assorted citrus zest. Finish is bittersweet and hoppy. Outstanding malt balance to the hops. Fruity, hoppy, and refreshing. One of the best beers I’ve had from Sam Adam’s. thetmaxx (917) - West Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Aroma is very hoppy. Lots of citrus. Flavor is very clean being a lager. I’m enjoying the hoppy lagers! Flavor is bitter and reflects the citrusy hopping. The palate is clean and finishes dry. Very good beer from the spring thaw pack.
