single bottle from Kroger, mix-pick six pack (this, pyramid okto, hopadillo, + 3 rodeo clowns) .. . pours a rather lifeless mop water brown .. low foam .. . odd bitterness .. mild esters .. light chocolate banana and soiled bark .. . wow, way to dumbed down and a bit disappointing .. . . I have to go now. My planet needs me. bytemesis (8336) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - SEP 2, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 3, 2012 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a medium creamy tan head that laces well. Aroma is wheat, roasted malt, notes of lemon and banana.
.flavor seems quite authentic with clear wheat, caramel, banana, and lemon notes, light sweetness, mildly astringent, banana lemon finish with just a touch of bitter. Very drinkable. PorterPounder (7961) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarkets - Killearn - 12 oz bottle. Bonus - thought I had already rated this...was just going to do a rerate! Slightly murky dark copper pour, soft off-white head. Aroma of cloves and bubble gum. Solid wheat flavor with a hint of bananas and cloves and a touch of bubble gum. Mouthfeel is sticky and thick. Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a small tan head over a clear copper body. Aroma of banana, rye and husky wheat. Taste is watery with clove, wheat and some esters. Fizzy and watery. FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 30, 2011
Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a caramel-brown color with a large foamy cream colored head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was light banana, clove, a touch of citrus and moderate bread. The aroma was bitter and bready with notes of caramel, clove, a touch of banana, tart citrus and nut. The finish was long, tart, bread, caramel, citrus and clove. Fairly full bodied. Nice.

Bottled. Poured medium orange with a short, swirly white head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasty vanilla and banana notes with a bunch of cloves accenting.. more assertive than I wanted for the style. The flavor found warm caramel, molasses, and a kiss of chocolate at the core, with ripe bananas and cloves around.. finished very spicy with cloves and nutmeg leading. Medium-bodied, very sweet, and very spicy on the palate (those components didn’t always mesh well or flow smoothly).. heavy-handed for the style. Perhaps the darkest weizen I have seen. Aroma is big and malty with some spice. Aroma is better than the flavor which was not substantial. Body was thin as well. AirForceHops (7233) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 30, 2010
12 oz. Bottle. Pours cloudy brown, light fluffy head, some lacing. Nose is clove, earthy funk, slight banana. Taste is largely reflective of the smell, a decent example of this style, nothing to knock your socks off. Drinks smooth, if the mouthfeel is a bit watery. Decent beer, and one of the few readily available dunkels MOST people can get their hands on. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUL 21, 2011
draft at Coles, Buffalo NY. Pours a somewhat burnt orange color. Like when an orange is starting to go bad color. Cloves dominate aroma with fruity yeastiness. Decent dunkle flavor but maybe needs a tad more in both aroma & flavor Iphonephan (6984) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - OCT 26, 2012
From a bottle poured at home. Pours a deep, hazy amber with an off white head. Fruity banana aroma and flavor without much hop present. Crisp finish. A decent, sessionalbe beer.
