COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our version of the traditional German Kolsch style is fragrant and complex. The Alsation hop we chose imparts a subtle citrus note. Jasmine Sambac, a night blooming Southeast Asian flower, adds a delicate floral aroma and flavor to this layered and refreshing brew. Cheers!

Pours a medium golden hue with a thin white head. Smells of honey and citrus with floral notes. Taste is that of a pils with a summery hint of jasmine. Pleasant and easy to drink plenty of.

Golden color with a fizzy white head. Crisp and grainy flavor with a touch of floral hops and a mildly malty body.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear pale golden with a white head. Slightly sweet pale malts with apple and banana hints. Very clean, nice flavors: base is pilsener malt flavor with lemony citrus, a little red apple and banana again, herbal finish. Quite pleasant, really.

Bottled, clear thin yellow, thin foam, bare slight fruity aroma and flavor, falls short

Bottle. From the bottle. Clean straw-like nose from that half-inch bottle whole. Appearance ill just assume looks decent for the style...uh oh, sue me. Flavors are nicely clean and relaxing...straw and a bit of lemon dominate..crisp pilsnery hop finish with the the added body of something potentially ale like...isn’t that the whole point with a kolsch? Well then, I think the point has been fully accomplished here..I keep thinking that sam adams should be cheaper than other craft beers because of the gigantic profit percentage they probably have over 100% of other craft breweries, but of course, they don’t...and from a business perspective they don’t have to...but from a me perspective, they should...id buy more if it was cheaper, but I’m a rare breed. This is a good beer in a style that most don’t seem to do well with, including ballast point...id drink this before my local yellow tail any fucking day...but luckily ballast beats them on pretty much every other front. Good, clean drinking kolsch fun here. I enjoy.

On draft at Little Woodrow’s in Midtown Houston. The thing I enjoyed the most was the jasmine aroma and citrus taste, presumably from the hops used. I will admit with some other raters though...as a kolsch, there’s a predisposition towards a light and slick texture to the beer in your mouth, but this was surprisingly wet and almost slimy feeling. Not the best texture for a beer...however, most kolsch type beers tend to provide an noticably bitter finish and buttery taste in the mouth, making them poor choices for sessions unless it’s 100 degrees outside. This had a unique note to the hops and aroma that made it extremely enjoyable.

draft @ redlight redlight. Honey malts on the nose with hints of spicy hops. Pours golden blonde with a dense white head. Nice and spicy with floral notes with bready malts and a nice citrus flavor as well. Great session beer!

Pours a very pale golden color with a small head. The aroma is bready and floral with a little bit of bright maltiness. The flavor is very clean and floral with some sweet orange and a mild bitterness. Not something I would drink a lot of, but I wouldn’t turn it down I suppose.

bluemooner (657) - East Bethel, Minnesota, USA - MAY 19, 2011
Pours a clear pale golden with a small white, fizzy head. Aroma is weak with hints of grain and spices. Flavor is also rather weak with hints of grain and spices; atypical Kolsch flavors. Thin body and plenty of carbonation. Poor for a Kolsch.

strap (915) - Sindelfingen, GERMANY - MAY 18, 2011
one of the weaker Sam Adams brews in this year’s summer pack. pours yellow with a small white head. slightly citrus, with a malt liquor bite. mouthfeel wasn’t that great.
