COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our version of the traditional German Kolsch style is fragrant and complex. The Alsation hop we chose imparts a subtle citrus note. Jasmine Sambac, a night blooming Southeast Asian flower, adds a delicate floral aroma and flavor to this layered and refreshing brew. Cheers!

Leighton (22021) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2012
Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC during an evening of heavy drinking. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam of a head. Nose is all pale malts, white bread. Medium to strong sweet flavor, very bready, but not cloying at all. There are notes of faint berries and light bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, faintly toasty, more bready malts, mostly white bread. Very sessionable lager. Yeah, very drinkable.

A: The pour is a golden straw color with a nice white head on it. S: Not the best nose. I get a fair amount of corn along with lots of straw and grass. A little bit of yeast to go along with the bready malts. A fairly light hop aroma to this one. T: I’m not a big fan of the flavor, either. Sweet and corny with some table sugar sweetness. A light grass and floral hop flavor to it as well. Strangely, mild pepper notes and just a bit of bitterness. M: The body on this one is medium with a medium carbonation. O: A real let down from Sam Adams. I was hoping for a nice, enjoyable glass of Kolsch and that’s not what I got.

bhensonb (15602) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 20, 2011
Bottle from mix/box at Nugget in Woodland, CA. Pours gold with a few white, transient bubbles. Light floral aroma over light malt. Med+ body. Flavor is rather pale malt with some citrus and jasmine. Wouldn’t have got that without the description. Been a long time since I had jasmin tea. It’s fairly pleasant and has much more flavor than most kolsches. Just mildly bitter.

Just wasn’t doing much for me. PArt of the summer pack. It is light, slightly fruity, in a whole lower class than those produced in Köln.
