It has been a while since I last had this so take the review with a grain of salt. Anyway, it has a yellow color typical of the style. The taste light, refreshing and not too bitter. Overall not my favorite, but good during the summer. morty99 (371) - Maryland, USA - SEP 12, 2002

Nice crisp and clear yellow beer that is refreshing. Nice flavor with just the right amount of hops to spice up this pilsener. A good beer from Sam. Yay. mribm (462) - Ocala, Florida, USA - AUG 19, 2002
Poured with a nice head and was a golden yellow in color. It smelled crisp and tasted the same way, crisp and refreshing. I did however have a problem with the aftertaste. It was missing that little "zing" in the finish which is the trademark of a good pilsener. Still a good summer beer! k2 (146) - USA - JUL 20, 2002
Good ’hot day beer’. Nice hops but not overpowering........................

Bright yellow color, foamy head. Faint hop aroma, dry finish. Not to bad..... pilsnerrogge (2958) - Finspång, SWEDEN - JUN 24, 2002
Nice hoppy, bitterness. Less nice, skunky aftertaste........................ hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - JUN 12, 2002
The kinder, gentler Sam - gesturing at the majors God knows why. He still manages to sneak some taste in here, though, mainly a whiff of florality. Indra (2711) - Suburbia, Kansas, USA - MAY 30, 2002
Unique interpretation of pilsner. Citrusiness is almost ale-like (sour?). Good cold on hotter days, but not my first choice. austinpowers (2828) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 30, 2002
Mine had gone a bit skunky, I’m afraid, but I’ll try to ignore that and rate strictly on merit (or lack thereof. ha ha). The saaz hops are present, though subtler here, true to the American style. I didn’t find this as fizzy as others did. Lacks aroma.
