Bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours a pale golden with a big white head. Aroma of vanilla, oak and licorice. Flavour of vanilla, oak, slight smoke and licorice. The flavours don’t really compliment one another to make a complex profile. Pretty good, though a bit thin and unrefined. jtclockwork (17070) - , New Jersey, USA - JUL 23, 2012
Bottle. Pours light amber with white head. Nose/taste of oak, toffee, sweet malt, caramel, honey and hints of pineapple. Smooth - no alcohol detected. Medium body. bhensonb (15603) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 5, 2012
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours copper with a creamy, fizzy near-beige head. Lots of fruit in the aroma - pineapple I can discern. Full bodied. Flavor is caramel, astringent oak, and as the caramel washes away there’s grapefruit rind. It really is quite astringent. Interesting balance. Certainly not the standard heavy sweet barleywine. Pretty good stuff, and though the alcohol is clearly present, it’s not disturbing the experience.

Later whiffs are more about vanilla and malt. Sweet malty flavor with a lot of vanilla, caramel, honey notes, a bit of fruitiness, alcohol and a finish with moderate bitterness. Medium-bodied, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Tmoney99 (14850) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 11, 2011
