This is a very good tasting Barleywine Ale. I have to admit I have enjoyed more than a few since they’ve hit the stores. SanfordBrewer (1576) - Sanford, Florida, USA - APR 10, 2012
Translucent amber with a thin lasting white head. Slightly clingy medium-full body with medium carbonation.SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - JAN 14, 2012
Aroma: bright fruity hops (dried pinapple), oak, caramel, and lots of pale malt.
Taste: jack fruit, other tropical fruits, caramel malt, heavy pale malt, and warm alcohol.
Pours clear light burnt orange, almost blonde, with a tight white foamy head. Smells sweet, like hints of honey and tropical fruits, and caramelized sugars. Tastes fruity, sweet, a little bitter, with a faint hint of vanilla from the oak. Full-bodied with a slick texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Samuel Adams Griffin’s Bow Oaked Blonde Barleywine Ale finishes with a subtle dryness from the oak. julieimagery (182) - Coconut creek, Florida, USA - MAY 19, 2012
The smell is hoppy and oaky, but the taste is fruity, vanilla sweet, malty, spicy, touch of oak, spiciness with a hint of pepper with a clean finish. hopma (6) - Michigan, USA - AUG 30, 2012 does not count

Smells of light citrus and very light malt. Not bad, but aroma overall was very weak. Looks great, medium-dark hazy orange with a frothy off-white foam. The taste is one of deceptive ABV. Has a moderate sweetness and light bitterness, with bitterness coming through stronger on the aftertaste, which makes it easy to drink despite it’s high ABV. Has a medium body, though it might actually be heavier and *feel* lighter due to the (average) carbonation, which is more than the typical barleywine it seems. Long bitter finish, which helps round out the initial sweetness. Overall this is a great beer, and an interesting take on the barleywine style. tysongillmore (362) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2015
I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright amber color with a huge foamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet pineapple, grapefruit and fruit cocktail syrup. The flavor was sweet pineapple, dried papaya, grapefruit, sugar and pine with a sharp hoppy presence that really coated the tongue. The finish was long with sugar, pineapple, grapefruit and papaya lingering. Thick and full bodied. The alcohol was fairly well hidden. Wonderful. porkdiggity (108) - Ohio, USA - NOV 16, 2012
Good stuff. Very complex, full of lots of flavors, almost hard to quantify. Highly recommended.

Rated based on notes taken 25 Feb 2014 -- The oak comes through in a great way. A great sipping beer that has a nice sweet flavor up front that blossoms into a complex end.
