American Beer Classic. Pours Opaque brown/orange. Small white head with a lot of lacing. Aroma is very spicy and salty. A lot of yeast and banana. Mouth is very bitter and spicy. Hoppy, nutty and a good amount of yeast. interesting taste for an IPA. DeliveryDriver (170) - Illinois, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Had it on tap. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a finger length, frothy white head. Lacing is immediately apparent. Nose is piney, with spices and banana. Strong yeasty flavors come out on the tongue. Decent hop bite, much more malty and yeasty flavors stand out. One of the lighter bodied Belgian IPAs I’ve had. I liked it. 12oz bottle (6.5% ABV per label on bottle - enjoy by 06/2013) - pours medium amber with ivory head and decent lacing. Nose is grassy, slightly floral and yeasty. Flavor adds banana sugars similar to that of a weizenbock. Complex in taste department if not chaotic. metallic aftertaste. a strange brew. mikedevilsfan (226) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Nice white head, lacing immediately apparent. Aroma, strong banana, hint of hops. Tastes of banana and hops with some pine on the back end. Definite hop presence but not overwhelming. Very nice beer. Better than the 86 rating! Love it FROTHINGSLOSH (7901) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 6, 2013
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark caramel color with a medium sized foamy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was dryish and spicy with notes of cinnamon, bread and faint fruity hops. The flavor was semi-sweet and malty with notes of bread, cinnamon, nutmeg and faint fruity hops. Medium length finish of bread and cinnamon. Medium body. Pleasant but uninspired.

It has an earth aroma. Yellow hue. The taste is bitter and rough. It feels really watery. Just sort of MEH...

Purchased at Binny's in Chicago as part of a 12 pack mix, enjoyed at home on the first warm night of the season after a hard workout while watching playoff hockey. Appearance is a dark amber gold with a slim white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is mostly malty with a bit of clove / spice and not really much for hops. Taste goes down lightly bitter and the clove comes through a bit more. Decent stuff, nothing too crazy. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - APR 30, 2013
Pours clear copper with a medium white head. Smells fruity, citrusy, and a little earthy. Taste is bitter, a little bit of citrus, like grapefruit, a touch of pine, and a subtle kiss of spruce and clove. Medium-bodied with a wet texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Samuel Adams Grumpy Monk finishes with a light dryness. tgncc (3136) - Bellmore, New York, USA - APR 27, 2013
From AC beer Fest 2013. The aroma is fruity, peppery. The appearance is clear amber, white head. The flavor is fruity, peppery. The finish is sweet, light pepper. Medium in body. Decent. jason1970 (143) - Illinois, USA - APR 27, 2013
I loved this one. Came in the Hopology 12-pack. My favorite by far. Pours a creamy off orange color with a beautofil, fluffy and thick head that leaves plenty of thick lacing. Aroma is like a great Belgian ale with clove and some banana notes as well as the citrus notes of an IPA. Taste is fantastic. Love the mellowness of the malt that shows through but doesn’t overpower the hops that make it an IPA. Very drinkable and worth trying.
