12oz bottle thanks to the IPA mix pack, pours a clear dark amber with a decent off white head a little bit of lacing through the glass, aroma has a touch of spice to it with a little bit of must as well, the flavor has a dry finish with more spices than fruit, the finish has just a hint of hops, slick mouthfeel, not bad but nothing crazy. Poured honey copper clear color with two fingers of white frothy head. Good amount of lacing on the sides. Pretty good retention as well.
Smelled wet Cascade hops up front, giving way to spicy Belgian spices. Some light lime and pine, but also light cloves, banana and unknown spices. Got a bit of honey caramel or toffee as well.
Tasted a bit raw compared to the smell. Couldn’t really put my finger on it. Got light pine and light lime, and a lot less Belgian spices (cloves, bananas, spices) than the smell. A little bit of floral notes, but not overpowering. Bitter finish.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively (above average) carbonation. Abrupt bitter finish.
Was hoping for a bit more. Not the greatest Belgian IPA. GreatLibations (1854) - Last Supper, Arizona, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Golden with a lasting clumpy canopy. Smells of dusty hops, a bit rustic. Medium full nectar with good carbonation. Very vibrant hop profile with a modest malt backbone creating a strict hop character that finishes heavily bittered. Not much of anything else. Pleasing to drink.

Pours a golden amber. Cloves, pepper, banana, and spice aroma. Cloves are predominant flavor, but features earthy and spicy hops. Clove flavor lingers. Would have liked more hop aroma in an Belgian style IPA.

Not a whole lot of hoppiness with this beer. The malt overpowered this "IPA" but it still provided for an enjoyable taste.

Draft poured a relatively clear dark amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some light citrus malts, some yeast character, a touch of pine in here. Aroma was some caramel, and some pine resin. Okay brew. DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - JAN 12, 2013

I was confused when I ordered a sample of it on what it was. Even more confused that they call it an IPA. rpaskie (16) - Alabama, USA - JAN 2, 2013
Pours orangy gold, with light fizzy head that leaves quickly. Nose is peppery, floral, slight citrus, banana esters. A nice Belgian efforvesence. This is dry as a bone! Bitter from the start but not overpowering. Finishes peppery and dry. Just a slight sweetness in the middle. notes of grass, roasted malt, pine. A decent offering from Samuel Adams. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 22, 2012
On tap at Uncle Mike’s. Amber with a large white crown. Aroma of Belgian yeast, skunked grains, mild citrus and spices. Taste is more Belgian than IPA with mild citrus, bready malt, clove and other assorted spices. I see why the monk is grumpy.
